Essential Energy Course Information for 2015
Work Near Overhead Powerlines (WNP)
Essential Energy as a Training Organisation is pleased to be able to offer the Work Near
Overhead Powerlines (WNP) training course. The course is available in either Initial

Why do we need this course and

Overhead powerline contact is one of the largest single
causes of fatalities associated with mobile plant and

Work Near Overhead Powerlines includes references to
legislative obligations of persons conducting a business
or undertaking (PCBU), officers and workers who are
required to work in close proximity to overhead
powerlines.
What will the course do for you or your
employees?
Once successfully completed, workers will be able to
work to reduced clearances in accordance with the
WNP Code.

The course includes:

> The power system
> Electric shock – effects and prevention
> How to determine voltage levels of electrical apparatus

the accreditation to remain current.
