Police Shooting Backlash
By: Jack Little
On Monday, the Missouri
state prosecutor, Robert P.
McCulloch, announced that
Darren Wilson, a white police
officer, would not be indicted
for the murder of Michael
Brown, an unarmed black
teenager. This decision generated a lot of frustration
particularly from people in
Ferguson.

were burned to the ground.
There were cases of looting
and over a hundred shots
were reportedly fired.
On Tuesday, the protests
reached far beyond the Missouri state borders, with protests being reported in cities
like New York, Los Angeles,
Atlanta and even Toronto.

The Bantam Hockey team
looked to get back on track
with a big week of hockey. It
started off with a tough game
against Kuper. Selwyn was not
disciplined at all giving up the
middle and making many bad
turnovers. Josh Nadler got the
start and made some very
nice saves. The game ended 60 for Kuper.
Selwyn had their first tournament at LCC last week, playing
three games.. All though Selwyn played a good hard hitting game the offence once
again couldn't get going and
Selwyn lost 3-0 to Regina
Asumpta, Josh Nadler received player of the game honours. The second game of
the tourney was against Notre-Dame, David Giroux getting the start. Once again Selwyn played ok all around but
couldn't get anything going
offensively, losing 3-0. David
Giroux got player of the game
honours.
In Selwyn's last game everything changed.

If you could give one piece
of advice to current students at Selwyn what would
it be?
Gump is simply put, a film
that is strong both on style
and content, entertainment,
and message—a rarity.
My one piece of advice is
that you should all ways
keep it real and you should
always be chilling.
Are you still in contact with
your friends from Selwyn?
What is your favourite
movie? Why?
My favourite movie is Forest
Gump. It is an emotionally
stirring, delightfully humorous, and insightful look into
the values of America from
the 60s to the 90s. But it is
also profound because it is a
calculated postmodern philosophical polemic about
the meaning of life. Forest
No Doubt.
your school who would it be?
Why?
I would definitely pick Coach
Matt Connell to come and teach
me calculus. He was my sub in
grade 8 and I learned many
things about math and things.
Who is your favourite
hockey player and why?
What are some of your hobbies?
I am my favourite hockey
player. My second favourite
hockey player is Wayne
Simmonds. He is the perfect
combination of “sniping
tenders and decking benders.” It also clear that he
performs on and off the ice.
If you had one wish what would
you wish for (can’t wish for
more wishes)?
If you could pick one
teacher to come teach at
Nikki Minaj.
I watch hockey often.
Ask Mr. Shannon about the hedonic treadmill.
What gets you up in the morning?

What are you favorite sporting event to watch At Selwyn?
A kid comes to me when I
was working with delinquent
kids and asked me if you pull
a hundred dollar bill out of
your right pocket and then
pulls another hundred out of
your left pocket what do you
get there. To which I reply
promptly 200 dollars. To my
surprise the kid said no man
you got somebody else’s
pants.
If you were to teach a subject
at Selwyn what would it be
and why?
ERC, well you know politics is
my passion, and it is really
interesting to read about the
recent events around the
world.
What is the best part of your
job?
Interacting with the students
by far.

SELWYN HISTORY By: Matthew Levine
Selwyn House has a
very rich history of over one
hundred years. Algernon Lucas founded the school in
1908; he was also a lieutenant in the army and fought
in WW1, where he died while
serving his country. This is
where the four houses come
in; Lucas, Macaulay, Speirs,
and Wanstall, are named for
the first four headmasters of
the school.

After a great pre-game speech
from former Loyola coach Casey Cook, Selwyn took on
their rivals Loyola. The game
started off a little slow, Loyola
getting the first goal on Josh
Nadler. But right back came
Kyle, tying up the game for
Selwyn. Josh Nadler made
some great saves, but Loyola
got another goal to go ahead.
With one minute left, Rainrashta dodging hit after hit,
got Josh Naimer with a great
pass and the score was tied.
In the shootout, Hunter Fodor
scored for Selwyn to tie things
up again, and Dylan Green
scored the winner to secure
the player of the game honours.

If you could change your
name what would you
change it to? Why?
Liam Nicol
What is your favorite memory at Selwyn?
Too many to chose from.
Briefly describe a day in the
life of Liam Nicol.
Wake up, slap the egg white
and gluten free sausages on
the grill. Do some concussion exercises. Go to
school—work hard, play
hard. Do some concussion
exercises. Eat some chicken
with apples and maybe a
banana for potassium for
lunch. Still working hard and
playing hard at school.
Come home. Do some concussion exercises. Do some
stretches and movements to
work on pelvic movement
and neck strength for 40. Do
some homework. Do some
exercises. Do some more
homework. Do some concussion exercises. Bike for 32
minutes and 20 seconds
while keeping my heart rate
at an average of 161 BPM.
Stretch for 20 minutes. Do
homework. Do some concussion exercises. Shower. Do
some concussion exercises.
Then do some nasal sprays
and wait 15 minutes to do
the next nasal spray. Go to
bed.
