23.6.2014 Dear Sir/Madam, RE: PROPOSED HAND CAR WASH AT MILL LANE SERVICE STATION, MILL LANE, HEBBURN, TYNE & WEAR, NE31 2EU The proposed car wash will be a Hand Car wash. All existing machinery on site such as petrol pumps, vacuum machine, air machine, etc. will all be removed by specialist engineers through the site’s current owner. For the supply of water to wash vehicles four motor pumps will be set inside the store room of the shop to pump clean water from the mains to the four water stands with taps next to existing pump islands. The alternative would be to have four large water tanks with as many Electric pressure washers sitting on the forecourt. So instead, a motor pump system is far more desirable to both trader and local community as it means less noise, less equipment on site and little to remove off the forecourt at the end of the night. To carry water from the shop to the taps 300mm deep trenches will be dug up to allow 4” PVC pressure pipes to be laid down. The trenches will naturally be covered over with concrete once the pipes are fitted. The other equipment to be used on site are a hoover for valeting and a pressure washer. The store room walls inside the shop will be sound proofed to reduce any potential disturbance to customers using the shop or waiting inside for their vehicle to be cleaned/valeted. Except for those 4 metal water stands, all other equipment and supplies on the court are moveable and nothing is permanently attached to the ground. At the end of trade all equipment and supplies will be removed from the grounds and stored in shop/garage leaving the compound clear overnight. See below for further details of equipment.
