README for installation of Ossec on IPFire systems.
There are 2 different binaries available to install Ossec
on
IPFire.
1) ossec-binary-*_agent.tar - Includes a precompiled
agent version of Ossec.
2) ossec-binary-*_server.tar - Includes a precompiled
server version of Ossec.
Both packages was build on an IPFire development system and
they where build for IPFire systems. A testing result to
use this packages on a e.g. RaspberryPi results in a
"bash: /var/ossec/bin/manage_agents: Kann die Datei nicht
ausführen." <-- the RasPi couldn ́t execute the binares.
Installation:
1) Copy a desired package to /tmp.
2) Unpack them with
tar xvf ossec-binary*
3) Navigate into the Ossec directory
cd ossec-hids*
4) Execute the installer script
./install.sh
Now Ossec starts with his installation dialog.
