The main responsibilities of the position are:
Negotiate, draft and close a range of solar PV and/or wind development agreements, including EPC contracts,
O&M agreements, equipment supply contracts and land acquisition agreements
Structure, negotiate, draft and close project finance transactions for solar PV and/or wind projects in Japan
Negotiate, draft and review all land related legal letters, agreements such as Land Purchase Lease Agreement,
Land Lease Agreement
Draft, negotiate and advise on limited/non-recourse project financing agreements, including facility agreements,
security agreements, direct agreements and other associated documentation
Provide legal advice and guidance to executives on any corporate issues e.g. employee legal-related issues
Ensure compliance of laws and regulations for all operations in the organization
Review contracts and legal documents to protect Company’s interests
Where necessary provide training to company and its affiliates on substantive legal topics

The ideal candidate will:
At least 12 years of legal training/experience
Fluency business Japanese and English, written and spoken
Lawyer qualification from Japan, US or UK strongly preferred
Experience working for a law firm or as a Legal Counsel for a reputable company
Preference given for candidates with property, construction or project-related experience
Excellent writing and communication skills both in English and Japanese
