Sehr geehrte Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner
der Dornwaldsiedlung und der Untermühlsiedlung,
es besteht der dringende Verdacht, dass
bei der Anschlussstelle Karlsruhe-Durlach
der Autobahn A5 ein Blindgänger aus dem
Zweiten Weltkrieg im Boden liegt. Sollte sich
dieser Verdacht bestätigen, dann legt der
Kampfmittelbeseitigungsdienst die Bombe frei
und entschärft sie. Die Entschärfung ist für
Sonntag, 5. März 2017 geplant.
Um eine Gefährdung der Menschen in den
umliegenden Gebieten auszuschließen,
wurde ein Bereich festgelegt, in dem sich am
Tag der Entschärfung, Sonntag, 5. März, ab
10 Uhr keine Personen aufhalten dürfen –
auch nicht innerhalb von Gebäuden. Dieser
Bereich umfasst die ganze Dornwaldsiedlung
und die ganze Untermühlsiedlung –
einschließlich der dortigen Kleingärten
– sowie die Kleingartenanlage an der
Elfmorgenbruchstraße westlich der Autobahn
(siehe Karte). Wann dieses Gebiet wieder
betreten werden kann, hängt von der Dauer
der Entschärfung ab. Diese ist für 14 Uhr
vorgesehen. Die Polizei ist am 5. März im
Evakuierungsbereich verstärkt präsent.
Für diejenigen, die für Sonntag, 5. März,
keine Ausflüge oder Besuche planen,
richtet die Stadt Karlsruhe die Turnhalle
der Pestalozzischule, Christofstraße 23, als
vorübergehenden Aufenthaltsort ein. Dort
können Bewohnerinnen und Bewohner der
betroffenen Gebiete während der Evakuierung
Quartier finden. Sie sollten aber daran
denken, dringend benötigte Medikamente,
Verpflegung, Babynahrung etc. dorthin
mitzunehmen.

Dear residents of
Dornwaldsiedlung and Untermühlsiedlung,
Wer seine Wohnung nicht selbstständig
verlassen kann und auf einen Transport oder
eine Betreuung vor Ort angewiesen ist,
sollte sich umgehend – möglichst bis zum
24. Februar – telefonisch unter der
Rufnummer 0721 133-3333
(Montag bis Freitag von 8 bis 18 Uhr)
an die Stadt Karlsruhe wenden.
Unter dieser Nummer ist die Stadt auch
am Sonntag, 5. März, im Zeitraum der
Entschärfung für wichtige Fragen und
Anliegen zu erreichen.
Wenn sich der Blindgängerverdacht
nicht bestätigt, gibt die Feuerwehr im
Evakuierungsgebiet per Lautsprecherdurchsage
Entwarnung. Aktuelle Informationen gibt es

There is a strong suspicion that an
unexploded World War II bomb may lie
buried in the area of the A 5 KarlsruheDurlach motorway junction. If this suspicion
is confirmed, the state arms and munitions
disposal service will uncover the bomb for
defusing. This unexploded bomb is scheduled
for defusing on Sunday 5 March 2017.
In order to ensure the safety of residents
of the surrounding area, a zone has been
defined in which no persons are permitted
to remain during the defusing on Sunday
5 March from 10 a.m. – buildings have to
be evacuated, too. This area covers the
entire Dornwaldsiedlung and the entire
Untermühlsiedlung – including the local
allotment gardens – as well as the allotment
located at Elfmorgenbruchstraße west of the
motorway (see map). How long it will take
until the area can be accessed again depends
on the duration of the defusing process,
scheduled for 2 p.m. There will be a stronger
than usual police presence in the evacuation
zone on 5 March.
For those not planning to take a trip or visit
families / friends for the duration of the
evacuation on Sunday 5 March, the City of
Karlsruhe is providing rooms and facilities in
the gym of Pestalozzischule, Christofstraße
23. Residents of the affected area will be
able to use these facilities while the bomb is
defused. Please keep in mind to carry with
you urgently needed medicine, snacks, baby
food and so on.
Those unable to leave the apartment without
assistance and those requiring transportation
or support on the spot, please immediately
call the following number provided by
the City of Karlsruhe: 0721 133-3333
(Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
– If possible by 24 February. During the
defusing process on Sunday 5 March, it
will also be possible to contact the City
Administration regarding urgent requests and
matters by calling the indicated number.
If the suspicion is not confirmed, the fire
brigade will inform the residents in the
evacuation zone via announcements over
loudspeakers. You will find further
