How to find us
Bus: From the railway stations Siegen Central or SiegenWeidenau take the bus route C111, UX1 or UX2 in the direction "Universität/Haardter Berg" to the terminus
"Robert-Schumann-Straße".
Car: Leave the motorway (B54 / B62) at “Siegen-Weidenau”, and continue in the direction of “Netphen”. At the
second light, turn left into “Am Eichenhang”. At the first
light, turn right into “Hochschulstraße”. Follow this street
to the end, then turn left into “Haardter-Berg-Straße”.
Here you will find signs for car parks.

Career Perspectives
The first Junior Researcher Day will take
place at University of Siegen on Tuesday, 14 February from 13 to 19.30 h in
the Alter Senatssaal (AR-UB 032). The
event explores possibilities to improve
the career perspectives for junior academics inside and outside of academia.
One important aspect will be the role,
graduate academies like the House of Young Talents can
play. The afternoon will be opened by Prof. Dr. Hanna
Schramm-Klein, deputy vice chancellor for cooperation,
international affairs and marketing.

jede Dissertation - ist voll von wissenschaftstheoretischen Annahmen und Überlegungen, die jedoch häufig implizit bleiben.
Da theoretische Annahmen gravierende Auswirkungen auf
Forschungdesign und Methode haben, und umgekehrt angewandte Methoden Rückschlüsse auf theoretische Annahmen,
zulassen, reflektiert dieser Workshop in einer erkenntnistheoretische Zeitreise wichtige Positionen.

An academic career with international
potential needs careful planning. We
will look at some of the many aspects it
entails in more detail, so participants
will be able to draft a five-year plan, setting year-by-year goals. We will discuss how to implement
key strategies for presenting yourself in the best light during academic interviews, at conferences and in application
material. We will also talk about strategies to successfully
present yourself as a peer and colleague, ready to begin a
new position.

first impression, this workshop will deal
with advantages, disadvantages and general limitations of a CV so you can get the most out of it
when you are out hunting for a job.

grundlegende Kenntnisse über Strukturierung und Formulierung wissenschaftlicher Texte vermittelt und Techniken erprobt, mit denen Sie Teilstrecken systematisch bewältigen.
