PREVIEW MEN'S SUPER G – Friday 20 Jan 2017 Jansrud looking for historic fourth consecutive win Kjetil Jansrud has won the first three World Cup Super G events of this season in Val d'Isère, Val Gardena and most recently in Santa Caterina on 27 December 2016. He could now equal the record for most consecutive World Cup victories in Super G, set twice by Hermann Maier (December 1997-February 1998 and December 1998-March 1999) and once by Aksel Lund Svindal (December 2012-December 2013). Jansrud can become the second man to win the first four Super G races of a season, after Maier in 1997/98. The record for most Super G wins in a single World Cup season is also four, by Maier (1997/98, 1998/99, 1999/2000) and Svindal (2012/13). Jansrud could claim his 10th World Cup Super G win, equalling Pirmin Zurbriggen in third place on the all-time victory list. Only Maier (24) and Svindal (15) have won more. In all World Cup disciplines, Jansrud has claimed 18 victories (9 Super G, 7 Downhill, 1 Alpine Combined, 1 Parallel Giant Slalom), tied with Lasse Kjus in third place on the all-time World Cup victory list among Norwegian men.
