また，研究にあたり，所属研究機関あるいは所属施設
《投稿規程》
1．本誌の目的
①理学療法学および関連する分野の研究を公表し，理
学療法学を発展させる。
②理学療法士の卒後継続教育に資する教育的な論文を
掲載する。
③理学療法の発展に関する記録や資料を掲載する。
2．記事の種類
①研究論文（原著）：新規性および独創性があり，明
確な結論を示した論文。
②症例研究：症例の臨床的問題や治療結果について科
学的に研究を行い，考察を行った論文。
③短報：研究の速報・略報として簡潔に記載され
た短い研究論文。
④その他：システマティックレビュー，症例報告，
の倫理委員会ないしそれに準ずる機関の承認を得ること
を必須とし，倫理審査委員会名および承認番号（または
承認年月日）を必ず記載すること。なお，倫理審査委員
会より承認の非該当となった場合には，その旨を記載
する。
9．原稿の採択
原稿の採否は複数の査読者の意見を参考に編集委員会
において決定する。査読の結果，編集方針にしたがって原
稿の修正を求めることがある。修正を求められた場合は
3 ヵ月以内に修正稿を再提出すること。提出期限を超過し
た場合は新規投稿論文として扱われる。また，必要に応
じて編集委員会の責任において字句の訂正を行うことが
ある。
10．校正
著者校正は原則として 1 回とし，誤字脱字を除く文章
実践報告 , 調査報告など編集委員会で掲載が適切と
および図表の変更は原則として認めない。
判断された論文および記事。（なお，症例報告とは
11．掲載に関する費用
症例の治療および経過などについて論理的に提示
規定の分量の範囲内までは無料掲載するが，超過した
し，考察を行ったもの。実践報告とは，理学療法の
場合は超過分に要した実費を徴収する場合がある。カラー
研究・教育・臨床等の実践の中で，新たな工夫や介

《執筆規程》
1．論文の構成
1）標題（表題）
：内容を具体的かつ的確に表し，できるだけ簡潔に記載する。原則として略語・略称は用いない。
なお，30 字以内のランニングタイトル（簡略標題。標題を短くしたもので，標題よりもさらに主題に絞り込んだ
もの。標題が 30 字以内であれば同じでもよい）を記載する。
2）著者名：著者は当該研究・執筆に寄与するところの多い人を必要最少限に記載する。著者資格については統一規
定（註 1）を参照すること。なお，審査開始後の著者の変更は原則認めない。
3）要旨：「目的」「方法」「結果」「結論」について項を分けて簡潔に記載する。また，研究論文（原著），短報以外の
記事の種類の論文においては，著者の判断で項目名を変更してもよい。
4）キーワード：3 ∼ 5 つとする。
5）本文：本文は原則以下の項目に沿って本文を構成すること。ただし，研究論文（原著），短報以外の記事の種類の
論文においては，著者の判断で項目名を変更してもよい。
①はじめに（序論，緒言）
研究の背景，臨床的意義，研究の目的，取り扱っている主題の範囲，先行研究との関連性の明示などを記述する。
②対象および方法
用いた研究方法について第 3 者が追試できるように記述する。倫理的配慮も記述すること。
③結果（成績）
研究で得られた結果を本文および図表を用いて記述する。データは，検証，追試を行いやすいように図（グラフ）
よりも表にして数値で示す方が望ましい。
④考察（分析）
結果の分析・評価，今後の課題，などを記述する。
⑤結論
研究で得られた結論を 200 ∼ 300 字で簡潔に記述する。
⑥利益相反
利益相反の有無について記載する。
⑦謝辞
著者資格には該当しない研究への貢献者については謝辞に記載する。
6）文献：引用文献のみとする。
2．投稿原稿の構成
本文，図表，図表の説明文，補遺（Appendix）で構成する。
投稿原稿の書式は，本学会ホームページを参照すること。
標題，ランニングタイトル，著者情報，要旨，キーワードは投稿システム上へ直接入力とし，投稿論文原稿への記
載は不要とする。
3．原稿の規程分量
研究論文（原著）
，症例研究，システマティックレビューは，要旨・英文要旨・文献・図表を含んで原則として刷
り上がり 8 頁（400 字詰め原稿用紙 40 枚・16,000 字相当）
。短報は要旨・英文要旨・文献・図表を含んで原則として
刷り上がり 4 頁（400 字詰め原稿用紙 24 枚・9,600 字相当）。その他は要旨・文献・図表を含んで原則として刷り上
がり 6 頁（400 字詰め原稿用紙 32 枚・12,800 字相当）。図表は，刷り上がり 1/4 頁大のもの 1 個を 400 字詰め原稿用
紙 1 枚として換算すること。
4．要旨
論文には和文の要旨（400 字程度）をつける。また，研究論文（原著），症例研究および短報には 250 語程度の英
文要旨をつけること。
5．図表
図・写真・表：図・表は本文に出てくる順に，それぞれ一連番号をつける。グラフィック表現および写真は図に含
める。図の番号および表題は図の下に，表の場合は表の上につける。図・表の転載は投稿前に著者の責任で転載許可
をとり，投稿時に許可書を提出すること。図表の説明（キャプション）は図表の後に頁をあらたにして記載すること。
スライド図・表は投稿用に作成し直す。
6．文献
引用文献は本文の引用順に並べる。雑誌の場合は著者氏名，論文題目，雑誌名，西暦年号，巻，頁（最初−最終）の
順に書き，単行本の場合は著者氏名，書名，編集者名，発行所名，発行地，西暦年号，頁を記載する。文献名の省略は
米国国立医学図書館（註 2）の方法にしたがうこと。引用文献の著者氏名が 3 名以上の場合は最初の 2 名を記載する。

原則としてネイティブ・スピーカーの校閲を著者自身の責任で受けること。

1）必要がない限り表に縦線は使用しないこと。
2）表・図（写真を含む）の挿入位置は本文の右欄外に指示する。
3）本文には行番号およびページ番号を必ず記載する。
12．附則
本規則の改廃は編集委員会の決議による。その後速やかに学会運営審議会に報告するものとする。

1．Purpose of this journal
① To publish studies on physical therapy and
those on its related fields for the development
of the field of physical therapy
② To publish educational articles that contribute
to the continuing postgraduate education of
physical therapists

to the advancement of physical therapy
2．Types of articles
① Scientific Research Articles (Original Article):
Novel and original articles that clearly present
the conclusions.
② Case studies: Articles in which scientific studies
and discussions are conducted regarding
clinical problems and case treatment results
③ Brief reports: Short study articles that make
concise statements in terms of quick
announcements or brief reports of studies
④ Other: Articles and reports deemed appropriate
for publication by the Editorial Board, such as
systematic reviews, clinical notes, professional
reports, and perspectives. (Clinical notes are
logical presentations and discussions of
treatments
and
transitions
in
cases.
Professional reports present specific and
objective information regarding new schemes,
interventions, results, and so on from physical
therapy studies, education, or clinical practice,
with the content of such reports having been
deemed beneficial.)
3．Qualifying for submission
Submissions from members and nonmembers
of the Japanese Society of Physical Therapy are
welcome. Refer to Note 1 and the Writing
Regulations regarding author qualifications.
4．Requirements for submission
The manuscript submitted must not have been
published or be a pending submission in any
other journal. The manuscript is to be produced
in line with these regulations and the Writing
Regulations.
5．Copyright Agreement
To confirm that the author is responsible for
the article and to transfer copyright, a
handwritten signature is to be presented using
the enclosed Copyright Agreement at the time of
submission.
6．Conflicts of interest
All authors must disclose any financial or
personal relationships with other people or
organizations
that
could
inappropriately
influence (bias) their work. Examples of
potential
conflicts
of
interest
include
employment, consultancies, stock ownership,
honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent
applications/registrations, and grants or other
funding. In connection with conflicts of interest,
the standards (Note1) of the International
Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE)
must be complied with.
7．Copyright
The Japanese Society of Physical Therapy
holds the copyright for articles that appear in
this journal. Articles published in this journal
are made available online.
8．Study ethics
On the basis of the Helsinki Declaration as
well as the ethical guidelines related to medical
studies as stipulated to the current laws of the
country in which they were performed, proper
consideration is to be given to the protection of
the study participants and a description of
ethical considerations such as explanations and
consent must be provided.
In addition, approval for the study must be
obtained from the ethics committee or the
corresponding agency in the research agency or
facility to which the author belongs. The name of
the ethical inspection committee and the
acknowledgment
number
(or
date
of
acknowledgment) must be provided. If approval
was not provided by an ethical inspection
committee, please state this fact.
9．Peer review process
The approval or rejection of manuscripts is
decided by the Editorial Board, with reference to
opinions from multiple peers. Amendments to
manuscripts may be required in line with results
of peer review or editorial policy. In the case that
amendments are required, the revised manuscript
is to be resubmitted within three months. If the
submission deadline is not met, the manuscript
will be treated as a new submission. Furthermore,
the submission’s wording may be corrected
under the authority of the Editorial Board when
necessary.
10．Proofreading
In general, proofreading by the author is
conducted once, and alterations to sentences and
figures are generally not permitted, except for
misprints and omissions.
11．Costs related to publication
Publication is free of charge up to a fixed
amount of words, but if that amount is exceeded,
a fee may be charged according to the excess
amount. Actual cost will be required for color
publication.
A submission fee and a publication fee must be
paid for submissions by those who have the
license of physical therapists in Japan but do not
belong
to
Japanese
Physical
Therapy
Association.

1．Organization of article
1) Title
Be specific and accurate in the representation
of the content and be as concise as possible. In
general, acronyms and abbreviations should not
be used. State a running title of 60 characters or
fewer (a simple title). This simplification of the
title should narrow down the subject. It can be
the same as the title if the title is 60 characters
or fewer.
2) Author names
List as few authors as possible in the order of
the magnitude of contribution to the study/
writing. Refer to uniform requirements regarding
author qualifications (Note1). As a rule, no
deletion or rearrangement of author names in
the authorship will be permitted once the review
process has begun.
3) Abstract
Concisely state the Objective, Method, Results,
and Conclusion in separate paragraphs.
Paragraph headings may be altered if the author
wishes to do so in articles other than Scientific
Research Articles (Original Article) and brief
reports.
4) Keywords
List three to five keywords.
5) Main text
As a general rule, the organization of the main
text should follow the items listed below.

① Introduction: State the background of the
study, its clinical significance, objectives,
range of the subject covered, and specific
connections to past studies.
② Method: State the study method so that a
third party can make a supplementary
examination. State ethical considerations.
③ Results (outcomes): State the study’s results
using text and figures. Data should preferably
be displayed in a table that shows numbers
rather than in an image (graph) to facilitate
verification and supplementary examination.
④ Discussion (analysis): Analyze and evaluate
results. Further, state the remaining
challenges.
⑤ Conclusion: Concisely state the study’s
conclusions.
⑥ Conflicts of interest: Any conflicts of interest
should be stated.
⑦ Acknowledgments: Acknowledge any contributors
to the study who did not qualify as authors.
6) References: Quoted references only.
2. Organization of manuscripts for submission
Organize the manuscript in the order of main
text, figures, explanatory notes for figures, and
appendix.
Refer to the website of the Japanese Society of
Physical Therapy for a submission template.
As the title, running title, author information,
abstract, and keywords are entered directly into
the submission system, these details do not need
to be stated in the article.
3．Regulation size of manuscripts
Scientific Research Articles (Original Articles),
case studies, and systematic reviews, including
the summary, sources, and figures, are generally
8 printed pages in length (or 5,250 words). Brief
reports, including the summary, summary in
English, sources, and figures, are generally 4
printed pages (or 3,250 words). Other articles,
including the summary, sources, and figures, are
generally 6 printed pages (or 4,250 words).
Figure size of 1/3 of a printed page corresponds
to 200 words.
4．Abstract
Attach a summary in English to the article
(approximately 250 words). If the person
submitting is Japanese, a summary in Japanese
of approximately 400 characters should be
attached.
5．Figures
Images, photographs, and tables: Assign a
sequential number to any images or tables in the
order in which they appear in the main text.
Images include graphic images and photographs.
State the number and title of the image below
the image or above the table in the case of a
table. It is the responsibility of the author to
obtain permission for the reproduction of images
and tables prior to submission, and the
permission should be presented at the time of
submission. An explanation of the figures
(captions) should be stated on a new page.
Slide images and tables should be remade for
submission purposes.
6. References
References are listed in the order in which
they appear in the main text. In the case of
journals, write the details in this order: name of
author(s), article title, journal title, year of
publication (C.E.), volume number, and pages
(first to last). In the case of books, write the
details in this order: name of author(s), book title,
name of editor(s), name of and location of
publisher, year of publication (C.E.), and page
number(s). Abbreviations of source names
should follow the method used by the US
National Library of Medicine (Note 2). If there
are three or more authors for a reference, state
only the first two authors.

7．Units of volume
Use the International System of Units (SI
Units) for units. Length: m, Mass: kg, Time: s,
Temperature: ℃, Frequency: Hz, and so on.
8．Abbreviations
State the complete spelling of any abbreviations
when they are first used.
9．Method of stating the names of devices
The names of devices should be stated using
the “common name (company name, product
name).” For statistical software, state the
“product name, version number, and company
name.”
10. English proofreading
All publications will be in English. Authors
whose native language is not English should
arrange for their manuscripts to be written in
idiomatic English before submission. A concise
style avoiding jargon is preferred.
11．Other
1) Do not use vertical lines in tables unless
necessary.
2) Tables and images (including photographs)
should be positioned on the right-hand side
margin of the main text.
3) The line number and page number must be
stated in the main text.
