Welcome to CeBIT 2017
„d!conomy – no limits“ – The keynote theme of CeBIT 2017
Digitalization is transforming the economy and society more profoundly than any other advance in the history of technology.
Increasing interplay across a wide array of digital technologies is sparking disruption and innovation at an unprecedented
pace.
The keynote theme of 'd!conomy – no limits' stands for the opportunities which have opened up for companies via
digitalization and new technologies. The keynote theme in 2017 also stands for the fact that the human/machine interface is
undergoing a profound shift, as is the traditional distinction between reality and virtual reality. As designers of the digital age,
people should not limit themselves in terms of new ideas and options, but should open-mindedly assess the possible options
and take on an active role in shaping the transition.

Newscorner - December 2016
All events which are included in the event program since the
first edition have been marked with the term (NEW) in the
table of contents
Japan invests billions of dollars in R&D and is a global leader
in digitalization, pioneering innovations in areas as diverse
as humanoid robots, artificial intelligence, the Internet of
Things, e-skin displays and technologies for translating
sound to vibration for the hearing-impaired.
The agreement pairs the world's leading event for the
digitalization of business, government and society with an
absolute global frontrunner in R&D and all things high-tech
and digital.
As a developer of digital technologies, Japan ranks among
the world's foremost innovators. And it is putting these
technologies to many novel uses, e.g. for the benefit of its
aging and declining population, with huge resources being
invested in in intelligent assistive and care systems. Other
top priorities on Japan's digital agenda are the Internet of
Things and associated IT security issues. In pursuit of these
goals, Japan is also increasingly engaging in international
partnerships.
The 3rd issue of the conference program appears
as from 20 January 2017.

innovative European startups. The European Commission’s overarching objectives are to provide European citizens with the
best possible digital services and to create the largest possible digital single market for European companies.
High-level conference
The Driving the Digital Economy in Europe and Society conference will be held annually since 2016. Featuring invited

CeBIT Digital Summit: Digital world of work
Conference Hall 8, Bamboo Stage
Monday, 20 March 2017, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The new opportunities, challenges and solutions created by digitalization are revolutionizing corporate working life. HR
departments are under pressure to find and recruit people with the right digital skills while at the same time empowering
existing employees to play a role in the digital transformation.
This, in turn, requires close consultation with trade unions, who are steadily stepping up their digitalization awareness and
campaign activities.
This summit examines the emerging challenges of digitalization at work and highlights the latest solutions and current best
practice. In a series of keynotes and workshops, the participants will map out a model for the future of work and discuss what
needs to happen to make it a reality.

CeBIT Digital Summit: Blockchain
Conference Hall 8, Bamboo Stage
Tuesday, 21 March 2017, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Insurance providers are aware that digitalization will transform their industry and its business models. They need to upgrade
their IT infrastructure in order to offer tailored products and harness the data they receive from their customers. This requires
new communication channels.
Insurers also need to leverage the latest digital marketing channels, e.g. video telephony and the enormous opportunities it
offers for worldwide service delivery.
Amid all of these changes, insurers must keep a close watch on the highly sensitive issue of personal data privacy and
protection. These topics and more will be discussed in the summit’s keynotes and workshops.
