Am Romanischen Seminar der Philosophischen Fakultät an der Universität zu Köln ist
zum 01.03.2017 eine Stelle als
Doktorandin / Doktorand
Im Sonderforschungsbereich 1252 „Prominence in Language“
mit einer wöchentlichen Arbeitszeit von 25,89 Stunden (65%) zu besetzen. Die Stelle ist bis zum
31.12.2020 befristet. Sofern die tariflichen Voraussetzungen vorliegen, richtet sich die Vergütung
nach der Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L.
Aufgabengebiete:
Die Doktorand/in im Projekt A05 “Prominence marking and language contact in Spanish” wird





Selbstständig Materialien für Elizitationsexperimente erarbeiten,
Erhebungsbögen für mono- und bilinguale Sprecherprofile mitentwickeln,
Die Experimente zusammen mit der Projektleiterin in Mexiko durchführen,
Sprachdaten prosodisch und syntaktisch annotieren und statistisch auswerten,
Forschungsergebnisse auf internationalen Konferenzen vortragen und der Forschungswelt
zugänglich machen.

Profil:






Erfahrung mit Software Tools für die Analyse gesprochener Sprache
Erfahrung mit experimentellen und statistischen Methoden
konzeptionell denken schnell in neue Themengebiete einarbeiten
hohes Maß an Selbstständigkeit, eine effiziente und überdurchschnittlich gute
Arbeitsorganisation und eine team- und ergebnisorientierte Arbeitsweise
hohes Interesse an Verbundforschung und an der Arbeit an Schnittstellen zu verwandten
Projekten
sehr gutes Spanisch und Englisch in Wort und Schrift

The Department of the Arts and Humanities of the University of Cologne is currently seeking to
fill the position of a
PhD Student
in the Collaborative Research Centre 1252 „Prominence in Language“
starting 03/01/2017 with a weekly working time of 25,89 hours (65% position) The initial contract will
be until 12/31/2020. The salary is based on the German E13 TV-L scale if terms and conditions
under collective bargaining law are fulfilled.
Job description:
PhD student for the project A05 “Prominence marking and language contact in Spanish”



Prepare and conduct elicitation experiments for Spanish, including two month-long field work
trips to Mexico,
Annotate and analyze regional Spanish speech data and acceptability judgments, including
statistical analyses,
Present results at international conferences and make them available to the research
community.

The applicant should:





Have experience with software tools for the analysis and annotation of speech data,
Be familiar with experimental and statistical methods,
Be capable of quickly adapting to new research topics,
Be capable of working independently and self-motivated, in a team and at the interface to
related projects,
Have a high command of Spanish and English in speaking and writing.
