r Using Bluetooth wireless technology
YouIHyundai car radio supports Bluetoothwireless technology. Bluetoothtechnology
providesa wirelesslink betweena Bluetoothmobilephoneor Bluetoothmusicplayerand the
HyundaiBluetoothcar radio.
The HyundaiBluetoothcar radio featuresa hands-freesystemso that you may talk on the
telephonewithouttakingyour eyes off the road or your handsoff the wheel. A microphone
builtinto the front of the radioreceivesyour voice and the callingpartycan be heardthrough
the car speakers.
Additionally,
a Bluetoothmusic playercan be wirelesslyconnectedto the HvundaiBluetooth
radio and playbackmusictracks in high qualitysound throughthe car speakers. some
Bluetooth
mobilephonesincludea musicplayerand can providebothhands{reecallingand
musicplayback. Checkyourmobilephoneownersmanualfor details.
Note:
a. When the car ignitionswitchrs in the ACC position,the HyundaiBluetoothradiois on
standbyto connectwith your mobile phone even if lhe radio is switchedoff. The car
batterymay thereforebecomedrainedif the ignitionswitchremainsin the ACC positionfor
an extendedperiodof time.
b. Bluetoothtechnologyuses low power radio transmissionto connect to your Bluetooth
mobilephoneor Bluetoothmusicplayer. As radiosignalstrengthreducesoverdistance,
the qualityof soundperformance
duringphonecallsand musicplaybackmay becomepoor
if the distancebetweenthe radioand devicewidens. lt is recommendedthat the mobile
phoneor musicplayeris keptinsidethe car cabinfor bestresults.
c. As a Bluetoothwirelessconnectioncan extendto 10 metres,your Bluetoothdevice may
automatically
connectto the HyundaiBluetoothradroeven if the devicels not in the car.
d. The HyundaiBluetoothradio uses the latest DigitalNoise& Echo suppressionsysremio
providethe best sound claritywith littleor no distortion,but in some conditionsthere may
be some echoand noiseexperienced. lt is recommended
to keepthe car windowsclosed
duringhands-freecallsfor best results.

1.1.Registeringa Bluetoothmobilephone or music player

A Bluetoothconnectionmust first be establishedbetweenyour Bluetoothmobilephone
or Bluetoothmusicplayerand the HyundaiBluetoothradio. The first step to connecting
the Bluetoothradioand Bluetooth
deviceis to introduce
or'Pair'the HyundaiBluetooth
radio and Bluetoothdevicetogether. lt is recommendedthat you have the instruction
manualfor your Bluetoothmobile phone or music player with you during the pairing
processdescribedbelowto understandhow to set your deviceto pair with the Hyundai
Bluetoothradio.
Note: lt is recommended
that all other Bluetoothdevicesotherthan mobileohonesare
switchedoff duringthe registration
or pairingprocess.
Pairinginstructions:
1) Pressbutton @ onceto selectBLUETOOThmooe.
2) Pressknob @ to displayREG PHONE,the pressknob O again. pAlRlNGand
coDE 0000will alternately
appearon the radiodisplay. The HyundaiBluetooth
radiois nowwaitingfor your Bluetoothdeviceto respondwith the correctdetails.
3) Now, set your Bluetoothdeviceto pair with the HyundaiBluetoothradio. For a
guideto settingyour Bluetoothdeviceto do this, referto section1.1.2. ,settingyour
Bluetoothdeviceto pairingmode'on the next pageof this booklet.
4) lf you wish to cancelthe PAIRINGmode,pressbutton @
5) lf the pairingprocessis successful,the Bluetoothlogo appearson the radiodisplay
and pairedphonename(e.9.Samsungor Nokia)and CONNECTED
appearon the
displayfor 2 seconds.
6) YourBluetoothdeviceis now readyfor use with the HyundaiBluetoothradio.
Note:
a. The HyundaiBluetoothradioallowsa maximumof 6 Bluetoothdevicesto be oaired
b. The batteryand signalindicatorsmay not be displayedif your mobilephonedoes
notsendthisinformation
to the HyundaiBluetooth
radio.
c. Bluetoothtechnologyonly allows one phone to be connectedto your Hyundai
Bluetoothradioat one time.
d. lf a Bluetoothmusicplayeris to be connectedtogetherwith a mobilephone,refer

Free Profile(HFP). However,in some cases,the connectionmay use Head Set
Profile(HSP)and somefunctionsmav not be available.
1.1.2.Settingyour Bluetoothdeviceto pairingmode
1) Browse your mobile phone or music player menu to find the SETTINGSor
CONNECTIVITY
sectionto find the Bluetoothconnectionsection.
2) Find the commandthat may be calledsearch for Bluetooth device or Discovery
mode so that your Bluetoothdevicecan locateall the Bluetoothdeviceswithinrange
thatmay be connected.
3) Afterthe searchis complete,HYUNDAIshouldappearon yourmobilephoneor music
prayerscreen.
4) SelectCONNECTor SELECTon yourmobilephoneor musicplayer.
5) The mobilephoneor musicplayershouldnowpromptyou top entera plN cooe.
Enter0000 intoyour Bluetoothdeviceand selectOK.
6) The mobilephoneor musicplayershouldconfirmthat it has establisheda new paired
connection
withthe HyundaiBluetooth
radio.
7)Thepairingprocessis nowcomplete.
8) lf the pairingfailed,FAILappearson the HyundaiBluetooth
radiodisplay.
Note:
a. As each mobilephone or music playerbrand and model has a differentmenu
structureand control names, you may need to refer to the user manual of your
Bluetoothdevicefor the correctprocedureto connectto anotherBluetoothdevtce.
b. Oncethe Bluetoothpairingis complete,automaticconnectionbetweenmobilephone
and the HyundaiBluetoothradio is possiblewheneverthe car ignitionswitchis
switched on. The mobile phone must be set to automaticallyconnect to the
HyundaiBluetooth
radioto allowthisautomatic
connection.
c. The HyundaiBluetooth
radiowillgiveconnection
priorityto the lastconnected
mobile
phone.
d. lt is recommended
that all otherBluetoothdevicesotherthan mobilephonesarb
switchedoff duringthe registration
or pairingprocess.
1.2.Disconnectinga Bluetoothdevice
lf you needto disconnect
your Bluetoothmobilephoneor musicplayerwith the Hyundai
Bluetoothradio,followthe stepsbelow.
1) Pressbutton@, to selectBLUETOOTH
mode.
2) BLUETOOTH
appearson the display.
3) Pressknob@, REG PHONEappearson the display.
4) Press button@ again to disconnectthe currentlyconnectedmobilephone or mustc
playerfromthe HyundaiBluetooth
radio.
5) When the Bluetoothconnectionis lost, Bluetoothlogo disappearsand the previously
connected
devicename(e.9.Samsungor Nokia)and LOSTappearon the display.
6) lf BEEPoN is selected(seepage21),threebeepsoundsare heardwhenthe current
Bluetooth
deviceconnection
is lostor disconnecteo.
1.3.Selectinga Bluetoothdevice
The HyundaiBluetoothradio can pair up to 6 Bluetoothdevices. A previouslypaired
mobilephoneor musicplayercan be selectedfor connectionusinqthe methoddescribed
Detow.
Referto the Table 1.1for examoles.

1.5.3.Switchingto private(handset)mode during a call
Duringan incomingor outgoingcall startedin hands-freemode,it is possibleto switchto
the privatecall modeusingthe mobilephonehandsetto speakto and hearthe calling
partyin private.
1) Pressbutton @ duringthe conversation;
PRIVATEappearson the display.
2) To switchback to hands-freemode usingthe HyundaiBluetoothradio,press button
@ againduringthe privateconversation;
HANDSFREEis shownon the displavand
hands-freecall operationcontinues.
Note: The above switchingfunction may cause disconnectionof the Bluetoothlink
betweenthe HyundaiBluetoothradio and some mobilephones. lf button @ is
pressed during the private conversation,the Bluetoothconnectionwill return
automatically.
2. Phonebook Function
2.1.Usingthe phonebook

1) A namewitha maximumlengthof 16 characters
lengthof 20 digitscan be storedand displayedon the HyundaiBluetoothradio.
2) 6'Volumes',selectedby pressingthe presetbuttonscontain13'Pages',selectedby
turning knob @ are providedfor phonebookentry storage. A total of 78 entries
consistingof a name and number can thereforebe stored. fable 2.1 providesan
overviewof the structureof the phonebook.
3) lt is possibleto browsethe entriescontainedin eachvolume(preset)by usingknob I :
each name and then phonenumberis displayedas the knob is turned. To searchthe
next volume(preset),pressthe presetbuttonand turn the knob untilthe desiredentry
is shownon the display.
4) Whenthe phonebook
entrynameor numberis displayed
on the screen,pressbutton
@ to callthe entry.
5) A new phonebookentryname or numbercan be addedor an existingentrycan edited
directlyusingthe radiocontrols. See section2.3.2.

and associatedsoftwareor firmware. lt may be necessaryto add
newfirmwareto the radioto ensurebest levelsof oerformance. The newfirmwarecan be
uploadedintothe radiousinga USB storagedevice. The upgradingprocessis simplebut
some precautionsmustbe takento ensuresuccessfulresults. Pleasereadthe following
