Gastronomie und sorgt für eine Verbindung mit den umliegenden Wohnquartieren.
Beim Bau des Hochhauses wurden 60.000 Kubikmeter Beton verarbeitet. Eine 4,65 Meter dicke
Stahlbetonplatte trägt den 140.000 Tonnen schweren Gebäudekorpus.
Der Wolkenkratzer ruht auf 40 Bohrpfählen mit einem Durchmesser von jeweils 1,30 Metern
und einer Länge von je 30 Metern.
Der von dem amerikanischen Architekturbüro Kohn Pedersen Fox entworfene Bau wurde 1988
mit dem Preis der amerikanischen Fachzeitschrift "Progressive Architecture" ausgezeichnet.
In Höhe des 52. Stockwerks wurde ein markanter Strahlenkranz installiert, der von Weitem
wie eine Krone wirkt. Diese Konstruktion besteht aus 11 Zacken und ragt elf Meter über das
Gebäude hinaus. Im Winter sorgt eine Beheizung dafür, dass sich kein Eis bildet und herunter
fällt.
Vor dem Hochhaus steht die Plastik "Inverted Collar and Tie" von Claes Oldenburg und Coosje
van Bruggens.
Die formschöne Krone auf dem Dach wurde vielerorts imitiert, so auch vom Gebäude The
Palisades West.
This building is located next to the City-Haus and belongs to the same bank.

icing.
• Awarded "Best Building of the Year" for 1995 by the American Chamber of Architects in the

• A sculpture of a giant tie by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen is set up in front of the
entrance.
• Frankfurt's fire brigade trains here for emergency situations.
