Objectives PTA
- To build a parent community, where parents have an active role in building our school.
- To enhance the educational environment for our children by providing funds for additional programs
and tools.
- To support the Tandem staff with time and input
What is a class representative? Who is part of the PTA?
*a minimum of one class representative is elected for each class.
*all class representatives together represent the active PTA board of one school location.
*A class representative also becomes the support link between all parents and the teacher.
*all parents of the school are equally considered members of the PTA
INTERNATIONAL MULTILINGUAL SCHOOL
PTA The Tandem Parents Teacher Association (PTA) is an active link between students, teachers and
parents. It is a voice and a resource for parents, an advocate for children and support for our school
staff.
Tandem predefines certain areas in which support is needed as well as leaves space for the PTA to
create ideas for involvement. The following categories are some that would be discussed with your Head
teacher.
Events
ie.: Halloween, End of year summer party, Teacher’s day
Excursions
ie.: Organise parents to accompany and help for outings etc.
Projects
ie.: Garden, library, visiting storyteller
Fund-raising
ie.: Auction dinner, raffles, special events
Curriculum
ie.: Organise parent lists for reading times, swimming, ice-skating
