How to get to the venue
from the main station (“Hauptbahnhof”) by public transportation (15 minutes)
Options:
1) Take the bus “TXL” (direction “S+U Alexanderplatz”). Get off at the station “Unter den
Linden/Friedrichstraße”. Walk along the street “Unter den Linden” in Eastern direction,
turn right at “Charlottenstraße”.
2) Take the bus “147” (direction “Märkisches Museum”). Get off at the station
“Französische Straße”. Walk along the street “Französische Straße” in Eastern direction,
turn left at “Charlottenstraße”.
3) Take the subway “U55” (direction “S+U Brandenburger Tor”). Get off at “Berlin
Brandenburger Tor”. Walk along the street “Unter den Linden” in Eastern direction, turn
right at “Charlottenstraße”.

Take the train “RE7” (direction “Deassu, Hauptbahnhof”). Get off at the station “Bahnhof
Berlin Friedrichstraße”. Walk along the street “Georgenstraße” in Eastern direction, turn right
at “Friedrichstraße”, turn left at “Unter den Linden”, turn right at “Charlottenstraße”.

Climate
Autumn/Winter in Berlin is usually very rainy. There are 106 days of rain per year, most of
them in November, December and January. Furthermore, it is quite cold in Berlin. The
temperature will probably be between 5° C and 10° C, which might feel even colder due to
cold winds from Eastern direction.
Tap water
Tap water in Germany is generally of a very good quality and is safe to drink.
Tipping
In Germany it is common to tip 5-10% of the expenses in restaurants and taxis.
Credit Card & Money Issues
In Germany there are many ATMs. Most ATMs enable to get cash from VISA, MASTER CARD
or American Express, but also Debit Cards. In most shops, restaurants etc. it is no problem to
pay using credit card or debit card.
