Spectator experts will explore the local, regional, national and transEuropean characteristics of different Spectator magazines from the Habsburgian area, from Denmark, France, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and Russia as well as other European (and even non-European) countries and they will study the Spectators' impact on literature (genres, writing modes, communication between authors and readers …) and journalism as well as their role in the spreading of enlightened ideas.
