PREFACE
Liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen,
sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
Dear colleagues,
ladies and gentlemen,
zum dritten Mal veranstaltet die DGIM zusammen mit der
Messe Düsseldorf die MEDICA EDUCATION CONFERENCE unter
dem Motto „SCIENCE MEETS MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY“. Sie
bietet die einmalige Gelegenheit, sich im Rahmen einer wissenschaftlichen Fortbildungsveranstaltung während der Weltfachmesse für Medizintechnik, der MEDICA, über neue Techniken
und deren medizinische Anwendung zu informieren.
Mit der Fokussierung auf einzelne Themenbereiche pro
Konferenztag und dem Angebot unterschiedlichster, teils international zertifizierter
Workshops, wie DEGUM-Sonographie, richtet sich die Konferenz an Mediziner aller
Fachbereiche – aus Klinik und Praxis – sowie an alle medizinisch und medizintechnisch Interessierten in Wissenschaft, Forschung, Entwicklung und Produktion. Neben
dem interdisziplinären Angebot wird die Konferenz auch eine internationale Informations- und Networking-Plattform für die Anwendung von Medizintechnik bieten: Die
Anzahl an englischsprachigen Veranstaltungen, die einen Fokus auf Medizintechnik
haben, wurde aufgrund der hohen Nachfrage erhöht. Hierzu konnten zahlreiche
international renommierte Referenten gewonnen werden.
For the third time, the DGIM is organizing the MEDICA EDUCATION CONFERENCE
together with the Messe Düsseldorf according to the motto “SCIENCE MEETS
MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY”. This conference offers the unique opportunity to gather
and exchange information about new technologies and their medical application in
the framework of an advanced scientific training course during the world trade fair
for medical technology, MEDICA.
With the focus on individual topic areas each conference day and the offer of most
various, partly internationally certified workshops such as DEGUM sonography, the
conference wants to attract interested medical professionals from all specialties –
from clinics and practices – and anyone interested in medicine and medical
technology in science, research, development and manufacturing. In addition to the
interdisciplinary offerings, the conference also provides an international information
and networking platform for the application of medical technology: the number of
events held in English with a focus on medical technology was increased due to high
demand. For this numerous internationally renowned speakers could be gained.

TAGESTHEMEN
DAILY THEME TOPICS
Jeder einzelne Konferenztag steht unter
einem inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt und wird
durch ein klar definiertes Tagesprofil
charakterisiert. Dies ermöglicht allen Teilnehmern eine abwechslungsreiche, kurzweilige und ganztägige Fortbildung sowie
den anschließenden Besuch der MEDICAFachmesse.
Am Montag, dem ersten Tag der Konferenz, liegt der Schwerpunkt auf Neuen
operativen Techniken in der Chirurgie.
Neben Innovationen und Zukunftsvisionen
werden auch aktuelle Standards operativer
Methoden abwechslungsreich und
kompakt vorgestellt.
Der Dienstag widmet sich der Bildgebung
und Interventionellen Verfahren, wie zum
Beispiel der Magnetresonanztomographie,
der Sonographie sowie der interventionellen Schlaganfallbehandlung. Sie finden
sich in der gesamten Medizin in der
Diagnostik und Therapie wieder und sind
ein wichtiger Bestandteil der täglichen
ambulanten und stationären klinischen
Patientenversorgung.
Unter dem Tagesschwerpunkt Innere
Medizin: Zukunftstechnologien und
Remote Patient Management steht der
dritte Konferenztag. Was leistet Telemedizin bei chronischen Erkrankungen wie
Diabetes? Inwieweit können digitale
Lösungen wie beispielsweise ein Fernmonitoring bei Herzinsuffizienz den Patienten
helfen, einen Krankenhausaufenthalt zu
vermeiden? Wie können „Wearables“ zur
Überwachung von Krankheiten eingesetzt
werden? Experten stellen sich am Mittwoch unter anderem diesen Fragen.
Am letzten Tag der Veranstaltung konzentriert sich das wissenschaftliche Programm auf die Diagnostik in der Inneren
Medizin, Labormedizin, Toxikologie und
Hygiene. Die zielgerichtete Bestimmung
von Laborparametern, die richtige
Interpretation und die Verbindung mit
den individuellen klinischen Symptomen
bestimmen den Verlauf vieler Erkrankungen ganz wesentlich. Daneben sind
beispielsweise gram-negative wie auch
gram-positive Erreger ein allgegenwärtiges, fachübergreifendes Diskussionsthema.
ZERTIFIZIERUNG
Alle Veranstaltungen im Programm der
MEDICA EDUCATION CONFERENCE
werden mit CME-Punkten zertifiziert. Auch
für die kommende Konferenz werden diese
bei der Ärztekammer Nordrhein beantragt.
Sobald der Status der Beantragung zur
Anerkennung wechselt, werden die Punkte
vergeben.
Each of the individual conference days has
an individual thematic focus and is characterized by a clearly defined day profile.
This allows all participants a varied,
entertaining and full-day training and a
subsequent visit to the MEDICA trade fair.
On Monday, the first day of the conference,
the focus is New Operative Techniques
in Surgery. In addition to innovations and
future visions, current standards of
surgical methods will be presented in
diverse and compact form.
Tuesday addresses Imaging and Interventional Procedures such as magnetic
resonance tomography, sonography and
interventional stroke treatment. These
procedures find application throughout
medicine in diagnostics and therapy and
are important elements of daily outpatient
and inpatient clinical patient care.
The third conference day focuses on
Internal Medicine: Future Technologies
and Remote Patient Management. What
does telemedicine mean for chronic
diseases such as diabetes? To what extent
can digital solutions such as remote
monitoring in case of heart failure help the
patient to avoid a hospital stay? How can
“wearables” be used for monitoring
diseases? Experts will ask themselves
these and other questions on Wednesday.
The scientific program of the event’s final
day looks at Diagnostics in Internal
Medicine, Laboratory Medicine, Toxicology
and Hygiene. Goal-oriented determination
of laboratory parameters, correct interpretation and connection to clinical
symptoms determine the course of many
diseases to a significant extent. In addition,
gram-negative and gram-positive pathogens, for example, are an omnipresent
interdisciplinary topic of discussion.
CERTIFICATION
All events in the MEDICA EDUCATION
CONFERENCE program will be certified
by CME points. These points are also being
requested for the upcoming conference
at the North Rhine Medical Association.
Points will be awarded as soon as
the status changes from application to
