Plantation Manager – Central America (m/w)
Our client is a large scale integrated and leading industrial producer of chocolate. The company
has several thousand hectares of land under preparation for cacao production. All cacaos are
shipped to Europe for captive use. The company’s philosophy is: adhere to ecological rules and
be gentle to the environment. With this model project our client demonstrates that ecology, fair
treatment of employees and economic efficiency are compatible with each other.
What you can expect:
• Manage the existing operations of a growing
cacao plantation estate
• Continue business success in high-yield
harvests and efficient cost management
• Take control of all phases and aspects of
estate operations
• Manage people, agricultural practices,
cacao production, budgeting accounts,
administration and production cost
• Coordinate with all related departments and
field assistants
• Handle harmonious relationship with local
communities and authority
• Implement agro monitoring and take on
required sustainability activities
• Attractive remuneration and lodging on site
What is required:
• BSc/MSc degree in agriculture
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estate /
Plantation Manager
• Plantation experience in tropical area
• Experienced in farm people management
• Leadership attitude, providing coaching and
developing talents
• Well organized and transparent work style
• Implementation of agro monitoring
• QA and certification experience
• In-depth understanding of ecological
processes
• Communication in cultural different
environment
• Fluent in Spanish - spoken and written
