AMBIT: BARTHOLDI + HÖRR
STOLZ & DEMUT
Bartholdi + Hörr, the designers of Stolz & Demut, have torn down the
barriers between art and design and created two design objects, both
challenging perception, both inviting interaction. The objects are beautiful to
behold and intriguing to experience. Stolz: a floating wing-shaped chaise
longue crafted of solid wood and steel. Demut: standing tall and proud one
minute and bowing humble the next. They explore feelings of humility and
humbleness.

NEW BOOKS IN GERMAN
20TH ANNIVERSARY
The project new books in german came to life through international
cooperation and great collaborative spirit that has fuelled it over two
decades. In the past twenty years – in the UK, at least – there has never
been a greater need for a new narrative, for minds to be opened to other
cultures, to other lives and ways of thinking. NBG is proud to play a role in
that endeavour, which is shared with the NBG partners (Austrian Cultural
Forum, Goethe Institut and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia) and with
the many organisations working with translated literatures and cultures.
