PhD position, Maghrebian Literature in French/Romance Studies TVL 13 (75%) by first of December 2016 (maximum grant period three years) at the Department of Romance Studies ‐ University of Mannheim. Within the framework of an interdisciplinary DFG research project on North African representations of memory, the holder of the post shall analyze Maghrebian Literature in French. Starting from the question of how postcolonial literature re‐appropriates different cultural layers of memory, the intended PhD‐study aims at interpreting twentieth‐century texts which represent North African Antiquity. Application requirements: A Master in Romance Studies including an excellent expertise in literature, especially in French and Francophone Literature. Expertise in other disciplines such as Comparative Literature and Classical philology are welcome but not a precondition. Knowledge of Latin (e.g. Latinum) will be an advantage. Doktorandenstelle, Maghrebinische Literatur in französischer Sprache/Romanistik (TVL 13, 75%, max. 3 Jahre) zum 1.12.2016 am Romanischen Seminar der Universität Mannheim zu besetzen. Die Stelle ist Teil eines interdisziplinären DFG‐Projekts zur Erforschung nordafrikanischer Erinnerungsdiskurse und das anzufertigende Promotionsprojekt zielt in diesem Kontext auf die Untersuchung der französischsprachigen Maghrebliteratur. Ausgehend von der Frage nach den postkolonialen Aneignungsstrategien in Bezug auf verschiedene historische Schichten der Erinnerung untersucht die Arbeit Texte des 20. Jahrhunderts, die auf die nordafrikanische Antike rekurrieren. Bewerbungsvoraussetzungen: Erwartet werden ein Masterabschluss im Fach Romanistik mit einem Schwerpunkt im Bereich der Literaturwissenschaft und fundierte Kenntnisse in Französischer und Frankophoner Literatur. Wissen aus anderen Disziplinen wie Komparatistik und Klassische Philologie sind erwünscht, jedoch nicht Bedingung. Lateinkenntnisse (z.B. Latinum) sind von Vorteil.
