Karabina Software was created with the

The Challenge:
The data collected by ZMS monitoring
applications and devices provide licence information, client
information and machine revenue. The system is also able to detect if
the machine has been tampered with. The challenge faced by ZMS
was that there was no central repository of data for reporting, limiting
their ability to view the data from all of the machines they are
monitoring. As the gambling board regulates all forms of gambling
and licence fees and the tax that is payable on the earnings
generated by these machines, there was a requirement for a
reporting and analytic tool. Without a central data warehouse
management we were not able to easily access and pull data.

decommissioned once a new system goes live, adding the challenge
of reporting off old data and new system data.

INTRODUCTING TIMEXTENDER TO
ZMS
Karabina
was
tasked
with
providing
a
TIME TO VALUE
mechanism for reporting and analysis of data,
from a central repository of information, using
an easy to use tool to quickly create and
generate any reports ZMS needed, while still leveraging off their
investment in Qlikview. They required a stable BI environment that could
be managed and maintained by their existing team in order to reduce
running costs. This also had a tight deadline as ZMS urgently needed the
tool implemented and operational giving us six weeks for project
implementation.

TECHNOLOGY
By implementing TimeXtender, an agile and flexible data warehousing
tool, ZMS have a consolidated view of information across the
organization with the ability to report off historical as well as current
information. With TimeXtender, QlikView Modeller & Script Generator, we
were able to leverage off the QlikView investment allowing them to still
use the product in conjunction with our additional analysis and reporting.

IN CONCLUSION
TimeXtender design environment’s drag and drop capabilities have
allowed ZMS to adopt the maintenance and future development of their
data warehouse. The user friendly nature of the tool allows users to create
and generate their own reports. ZMS were able to see the immediate ROI
of this additional tool, providing them with consolidated reporting and
analytics on all of their data, implemented within the budget and
timeframe provided. The tool has also automated their reporting as there
is no longer manual capturing or analysing of data, it is now easily
accessible to all business users.
