Amazing, Sanagochi children!
When I came here for the first time, I met several children who have the
basic communication skill which is to say hello in clear voice, big smiles and
confidence.
The after school English lesson has just started on June
th, Monday. The
children enjoy singing and dancing all together. It s very important and also
necessary to feel the English rhythm with their whole body, so I always provide
English lesson with a lot of music and dance.
I d been teaching English as a Japanese Teacher of English（JTE）in Kagawa
for more than
years. I learned so many things and those skills that I ve got
affect the after school English lesson. The lesson makes children disinterested
and unfocused. However it s not children s fault. It is the result that instructors
luck the originality and ingenuity.
The children listen carefully what I say and promise to keep the rules and
enjoy my English lesson! They are so sweet and ready to learn!

佐那河内の子どもたち、すごい！
この村に来た当初から、佐那河内の子どもたちにすでに備わっているコミュニケーションの素地
（大きな声で恥ずかしがらず堂々と挨拶ができる）子どもたちを見かけましたが、実際放課後英語
活動が始まると、どの学年も恥ずかしがらず元気に歌って踊って楽しく英語活動が進んでいます。
コミュニケーションの英語には、英語のリズムを感じさせることが大切なので、毎回必ず歌ったり
踊ったりしています。
私は香川県綾川町の小学校で JTE として小学校で英語指導を年間勤めました。そこで学んだ
ことはとても大きいものでした。歌ったり踊ったりゲームを通した英語活動は、子どもたちにとっ
てエネルギーを発散させる場となりますが、ときには
集中力を欠いてしまう場合があります。でもそれは、
子どもたちが悪いのではなく、指導する側に創意工夫
がないからです。佐那河内の子どもたちは、最初の活
動日から、話を良く聴き、英語活動のルールを守る約
束をして、みんなで協力しあって放課後英語活動がス
タートしています。聞き分けの良い子どもたちが可愛
くて大好きです！
