Foreign Direct Investment.”

THE TOPIC:
Country risk and foreign direct investment are important aspects of external financing for developing countries. Both are strongly correlated since country risk influences foreign direct investment and vice versa. This special issue is focusing on
theoretical and empirical papers dealing with country risk, foreign direct investment
and their interactions.
Specific areas of interest include:

Country risk, its components, determinants and measurement
•
Influence of country risk on foreign direct investment
•
Role of foreign direct investment in providing financial stability and preventing
financial crises
Invited speakers are e.g. Ephraim Clark, Marcel Fratzscher, Graciela Kaminsky, Alexander Kockerbeck, Bert Scholtens
Selected papers will be published in a special volume of Frontiers in Finance and
Economics.
