RULES OF THE RACE
ARTICLE 1.

ORGANISATION
The Tour de Suisse is organised by InfrontRingier Sports &
Entertainment Switzerland AG
(Grafenauweg 2, 6302 Zug) according to the rules of Union Cycliste International (UCI). The tour
will take place from 11 to 19 June
2016.
RACE HEADQUARTERS
On Friday 10 June 2016, race
headquarters will be open from
2.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. in the
schoolhouse in Sennweid, Deinikerstrasse 9, 6340 Baar.
ARTICLE 2.
TYPE OF EVENT
The Tour de Suisse is open for
the “Elite Men” category. It is advertised in the UCI WorldTour calendar. The race falls into the UCI
WorldTour class.
The UCI WorldTour points distribution system is applied according to Article 2.10.008 , the Uci
ranking is applied according to
Article 2.10.002, 2.10.008
The participants will be confirmed and the persons responsible
for the teams can collect the bib
numbers from the permancence
between 3.00 p.m. and 4.30.p.m.
on 10 June 2016.
The meeting of the team managers, which is organised in accordance with Article 1.2.087 of the
UCI Rules, will be held at in the
schoolhouse in Sennweid, next to
the permanence, Deinikerstrasse
9, 6340 Baar, between 5.00 p.m.
and 5.30 p.m. on 10 June 2016, in
the presence of the members of
the Commissaires' Panel.
Team classification UCI WoldTour
For the team classification, the
points of the 5 best riders in the
overall classification shall be added together. If teams score an
equal number of points, the classification of the best rider in the
individual overall ranking shall be
decisive, Article 2.10.035 of the
UCI Rules.
ARTICLE 5.
ARTICLE 3.
According to Article 2.3.009 of
the UCI Rules, the riders must
have entered their names on the
signature sheet by no later than
10 minutes before the start of the
race. Under threat of disqualification, it is mandatory for the riders
to sign the start list.
PARTICIPANTS
According to Article 2.1.005 of
the UCI Rules the following teams
are eligible to enter the race:
UCI WorldTeams and UCI Professional Continental Teams on invitation.
According to Article 2.2.003 of
the UCI rules, the number of registered riders is limited to 8. At
least 5 riders have to take part.

START OF THE RACE
In the case of the opening race
(prologue) the starting order shall
be determined by the organiser
in coordination with the Commissaires' Panel. The rider with start
number 1 in each team must enter the race as the last rider of the
team in each case.
According to Article 2.6.023 of
the UCI Rules, the starting sequence for time trials is the reverse of the starting sequence
for the time classification. The
Commissaires' Panel may alter
this sequence in order to prevent
two riders from the same team
directly following one another.
ARTICLE 6.
RADIO TOUR
The information from Radio Tour
can be received on the frequency 159.825 MHz. This service will
be provided by TOPKOM for each
stage. Radiotour is available via
031 511 07 41.
ARTICLE 7.
NEUTRAL RACE SERVICE
The neutral race service will be
provided by the Trek race service
with 3 neutral service vehicles.
ARTICLE 8.
INCIDENTS DURING THE
LAST 3 KILOMETERS
In the event of a properly ascertained fall, damage to tyres or
technical defects during the last
three kilometres of a day’s stage,
the rider who has suffered the
accident shall be credited with
the time of the rider accompanying him at the time of the accident. His ranking shall depend on
the crossing of the finish line.
If it is not possible for a rider to
cross the finish line due to a fall
during the last three kilometres,
he or she shall be put in last place for the stage and credited with
the time of the rider accompanying him at the time of the accident.
According to Article 2.6.029 of
the UCI Rules, this provision shall
not apply for the following finishes: 1st stage in Baar, 5th stage in
Carì, 6th stage in Amden, 7th stage
in Sölden and 8th stage in Davos.

ARTICLE 9.
CUT-OFF TIMES
The cut-off times have been determined in accordance with the
characteristics of the stages, namely:
Flat stages:
8%3rd and 4th stages
Stages of medium difficulty:
10%2nd stage
Mountain stages:
14%5th, 6th, 7th & 9th stages
Time trials:
25% 8th stage
Time trial (prolog):
30%1st stage
According to Article 2.6.032 of
the UCI Rules, in unforeseeable,
exceptional cases or in cases of
force majeure, the Commissaires' Panel may alter the cut-off
points after consulting the organiser.
ARTICLE 10.
CLASSIFICATIONS – RANKINGS
– TIME CREDITS (BONUSES)
The following time credits (bonuses) shall be granted in accordance with Articles 2.6.019 to
2.6.021:
–For each stage time credits of
10 s – 6 s – 4 s shall be granted at the finishing line for the
three riders coming in first.
–No time credits shall be granted for the time-trial stages,
including the prologue.
–For each search.ch sprint ranking, time credits of 3 s – 2 s –
1 s shall be awarded to the first
three riders.
The time bonuses shall be assigned solely to the overall classification.
A.Individual overall ranking
according to time
Article 2.6.014 of the UCI Rules:
Rules of the race
The individual overall ranking according to time shall be created
by adding the times registered in
each stage.
The leader in the individual overall ranking according to time
shall wear the yellow VAUDOISE
­ASSURANCES jersey.
According to Article 2.6.015 of
the UCI Rules, the fractions of
seconds measured during the
individual time trial stages (including the prologue) shall be added
together in the case of a tie in the
individual overall ranking according to time, in order to distinguish between riders with identical
times.
If this too results in a tie or if there
are no individual time trial stages,
the total places achieved at each
stage will be used and in the final
instance the place achieved in
the last stage of the race.
B.Davos Klosters King of the
Mountains classification
The King of the Mountains classification shall be calculated by adding the points achieved during
the 20 Davos Klosters King of the
Mountains rankings.

the UCI Rules, the following criteria shall be applied to determine
the ranking order in the case of
equal scores in the final King of
the Mountains classification:

highest category of the King of
the Mountains ranking

next lowest category etc.

Individual overall ranking according to time
To qualify for prizes according to
the final King of the Mountains
classification, the winners must
have completed the entire route

general Jumbo classification
The best Swiss rider in the general classification shall wear the
red Jumbo jersey.
2.Team classification
According to Article 2.6.016 of
the UCI Rules, the team classification for the day shall be created from the total of the times of
the first 3 riders of each team. In
the case of equal scores, the places of the teams shall be determined by adding the times achieved by their first three riders for
the stage. If the scores are still
equal, the places shall be calculated on the basis of the best rider for each team in the ranking
for the stage. The overall team
classification shall be calculated
from the total of the three best
individual times for each team in

all stages of the race. In the case
of equal scores the following criteria shall be used to determine
the ranking order:
1.Number of first places in the
team ranking for the day

If the scores are still equal after
this, the teams shall be differentiated on the basis of their best

awarded to the most active rider
of each stage, which is named by
the Tour de Suisse organization:
– Bruno’s Best Salad Bowl
– Traser watch
The total prize money for the Tour
de Suisse shall amount to:

ARTICLE 12.
ANTI-DOPING
The anti-doping checks shall be
carried out in accordance with
the UCI Rules. The checks shall be
carried out in the medical inspection vehicle, which shall always be
located immediately beyond the
finish line after each stage.
ARTICLE 13.
PODIUM CEREMONY
According to Article 1.2.112 of the
UCI Rules, it is obligatory for the
following riders to take part in the
podium ceremony:
– the winner of the stage
–
the leaders of the following
special classifications: overall classification, King of the
Mountains classification, points
classification, as well as 'Bester
Schweizer' and the day's most
active rider.
The riders shall appear on the podium behind the finishing line within 10 minutes after their arrival.
The following riders also have to
take part in the final podium ceremony:
–the first three of the Tour de
Suisse
–the winners of the special clas-
Rules of the race
sifications: overall classification, King of the Mountains classification, points classification,
“Bester Schweizer”.
–the leader in the UCI WorldTour
classification after the Tour de
Suisse (if present)
the UCI Rules. The disposal zones
will be placed shortly before and
after the feeding zones and as
well 20 km before the finish.
The leader in each ranking must
wear the corresponding leader
jersey. If a rider is leading in several classifications, Article 2.6.018
of the UCI Rules shall apply as regards the wearing of the various
jerseys.
Inspections to prevent technical changes to bicycles
After each stage UCI’s official
technical commissioners may
stipulate that certain riders have
to appear in the zone beyond
the finishing line intended for inspection, together with the bicycle used in the stage in question,
immediately after crossing the
finishing line. These inspections
shall be carried out in accordance with Article 12.1.013 of the UCI
Rules.
Press conference: According to
Articles 2.2.082 and 2.2.081 of
the UCI Rules, the organiser will
call upon riders to attend a press
conference in the press room.
At the start of each stage, the
wearers of the 4 ranking jerseys –
VAUDOISE ASSURANCES, Davos
Klosters, search.ch and Jumbo
– must position themselves in
the first row 5 minutes before
the start. A penalty will be imposed for failure to appear, Article
12.1.007 of the UCI Rules.

All penalties shall be handled according to the UCI Rules.
ARTICLE 15.
Environmental protection
The riders are not allowed to carelessly jettison feed, backpacks,
bottles, clothes etc. They are not
allowed to throw any items onto
the track. Biologically degradable
material must be used wherever
possible. It is not permitted to use
or carry glass, Article 2.2.025 of
the UCI Rules.
The feed and disposal zones are
signposted along the route in accordance with Article 2.3.026 of
