Werkstattgespräch | Workshop discussion:
Women in the Financial Sector:
Generations of Women Breaking Down Barriers?
Friday, 17th June 2016 | 6 p.m.
Room B.101 | HWR Berlin, Campus Schöneberg, Haus B
Badensche Straße 50-51
„Wall Street Women“ by Melissa S. Fisher tells the
story of the first generation of women to establish
themselves as professionals on Wall Street. In
response to discrimination and career barriers
that were a constant reality in the 1960s an 1970s,
a group of pioneering women created formal and
informal networks that would ultimately help
them work through these obstacles together.
Melissa S. Fisher will briefly present her work
and then moderate a panel with female managers
in the German finance sector including Christiane
Barg, Cornelia Pankratz, and Adelheid SailerSchuster.
Topics that will be discussed are: How has the experience of women in the financial sector changed
over the last decades? What are the main barriers
and obstacles women in finance and business still
face today? How has the recent financial crisis
affected women in the financial sector?
