Announcement of the International Spring-Regatta
and open Single long distance championship of
North-Rhine Westphalia 22th to 24th of April 2016, Essen, course Baldeneysee
The Regatta is arranged as per the effective competition-clauses of the German canoe association for
sprint-, short and medium distances of category B and for long distances of category A.
The attendance is carried out at one’s own risk. The organizer does not take any responsibility for
personal or material damage.

The course has a depth of water of 4-8m. The long distance races will be kayaked
as a circuit.
In case of more than 9 registrations, for the sprint, short and medium-distanceraces, qualifying-races will be kayaked.

Late entries must be present at the registration and the chief official until the 19th of
April 24:00 o’clock.
The max. length of a kayak in the pupil-competition is 4,20m.
The chosen kayak needs to be kayaked in both field events.
As per clause 2.6.1.1 of the competition clauses canoe-racing pupils up to age
class 12 need to wear a life vest during competition.
The penetrability into the next higher classes is not guaranteed due to recovery
time needed for the competitors.
For sprint (200m) and short (500m) distances a starting-machine will be used.( no starting-pontoons)
For the medium (1000m) distances, starting-pontoons will be used.
For tents on the camping site no fee is requested. For caravans and motor homes the fee is
Euro 5,--/day. For Pavillons and team tents that are not used for sleep the fee is 5€/weekend.
It is possible to get breakfast lunch and dinner at the boat house.

near to the regatta course.
The regatta course is in the green environmental zone. All cars must have a German environmental
badge. You must buy it before you enter the area of Essen. There is no possibility to buy one at the
regatta. The penalty is up to 80€ per car. More information in Dutch

ATTENTION NEW: OPEN RACES
In Races marked with “club-open”, team members can be from different clubs.
In races marked with “mixed club open”, team members can be from different clubs and of any gender.
The C8 Race is open to all ages, gender and clubs.
For all these races there’s the normal deadline for registering. If the Boat Crew is not sure then, it can be
announced at the team leaders meeting. But one club has to register the boat under its club name. The
Clubs have to coordinate it among themselves and one does the registration.
