Option Progressive Load Limiter – PLL
A new option for the TRW retractor line.
The superposition of the torsion bar and spool cutter
defines a progressive load limiting characteristic to be
applied in restraint systems without airbags. This option
works without a switching signal, matches FMVSS 209
requirements and could improve consumer ratings for
different occupants.

 The spool cutter with progressive characteristics works
together with the torsion bar
 The function of the system reflects the type of crash pulse
 No package volume increase
 Reduced oscillation
 Repeatable force/distance curve
 Flexible force/distance curve within 1 revolution
