Hier der CV: Born in 1967, Andreas Buechner received his M.S. degree in informatics in 1995 at the University of Hildesheim, Germany, and his Ph.D. degree (human biology) at the Medical University of Hannover in 2002. Since 2011, he also holds the academic title “Privatdozent” (associate professor) for Audiology at MHH and since 2012 he holds the W2-position (full professorship) for Auditory Implants. After developing signal processing and pattern recognition algorithms for medical imaging systems at the University of Hildesheim, he became a Research Scientist in the field of audiology at the Department of Otolaryngology at the Medical University of Hannover (MHH) in 1995. Since 2003 he has been the Scientific Director of the Hannover Hearing Center, subsidiary of the Department of Otolaryngology, MHH. During the recent years, he has led several clinical studies is the field of cochlear implants. Among them was the largest ever conducted prospective multi-centric study in the field of cochlear implants with more than 220 participating subjects. At MHH, he is head of several working groups in the field of objective audiometry, clinical study design and signal processing for cochlear implants and hearing instruments. He is author or co-author of over 150 research articles, book chapters and conference communications.
