General Information:
Programme Objectives:
The postgraduate course of study provides students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of
interpretive and musical expression and the repertoire by building on the knowledge and skills already
acquired in a completed degree programme.
Criteria for Admission:
Candidates must have completed a master degree programme or a diploma study harpsichord at a
recognised postsecondary educational institution either in Austria or abroad and pass the entrance
examination.
Candidates must present their diploma (with certified translation if not in German) and their diploma
supplement (for european completion of studies).
Entrance Examination:
The entrance examination consists of an audition in front of an examining board (jury).

The courses from the main artistic subject are to be taken in the appropriate sequence.
Final Examination:
The final examination consists of the successful completion of all of the individual courses.
A certificate is awarded upon completion of the postgraduate degree programme.
Tuition Fees:
€ 600,- per semester (may be subject to change)
€ 19,20 per semester (ÖH-Fee)

a) one prelude from Louis Couperin
b) one Toccata from Frescobaldi

One major polyphone work from J.S.Bach, for example from „Die Kunst der Fuge“
One virtuosic work, for example major Sonatas from Scarlatti, Fandango from Soler or similar

A self build transcription of an orchestral work from the 17 /18 century
Furthermore knowledge in Basso Continuo must be provided:
1. One early baroque work
and
2. One Sonata for Violin and Basso Continuo from Corelli
