Britta Klagge: Curriculum Vitae (12.10.2015) Britta Klagge is full professor of Geography at and Head of the Institute of Geography at the University of Bonn, Germany. Her current research focuses on economic geography with a special interest in energy and carbon issues, finance, globalization and governance. Earlier on, she also did research in the areas of urban and social geography, and obtained, in addition to a master degree and a doctorate in geography, a diploma in mathematics. Britta has many years of experience in both quantitative and qualitative methods and has directed various research projects, most of them with an international perspective and comparative approach. Her international partners include colleagues from China, Poland, Switzerland and the UK. Throughout her career Britta Klagge has been funded with research grants from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNF), the German Research Foundation (DFG), the AngloGerman Foundation, the Japanese Ministry of Education (Monbusho), the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the PRO*Niedersachsen program, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and other funding agencies. Britta has published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, two books and three edited volumes. Her interdisciplinary and community-building work is reflected in her role as reviewer for various peer-reviewed international journals and research funding organizations, as guest editor of a number of special issues as well as her membership and service as leader of an interdisciplinary working group in the Academy for Spatial Research and Planning (ARL, Hannover).
