In den historischen Gemäuern des
Klosters Frenswegen, umgeben von
idyllischer Landschaft an der deutschniederländischen Grenze, erarbeiten
Streicher, Bläser und Pianisten/innen
unter der Leitung international renommierter Dozenten bekannte und
unbekannte Meisterwerke der Kammermusik in unterschiedlichsten Besetzungen.
Die Arbeitsbedingungen im Kloster
sind ideal und die Ergebnisse der dreiwöchigen Arbeit werden in zahlreichen
Konzerten der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert. Oft stellt die Sommerakademie
wichtige Weichen für die zukünftige
Karriere – so konnten allein in den
letzten Jahren sechs Ensembles, die
regelmäßig an der Sommerakademie
teilnahmen, wichtige Preise auf internationalen Wettbewerben gewinnen.
Zusätzlich wird es ein Modul „Musikvermittlung“ dieses
Jahr geben.
Within the historic walls of Kloster Frenswegen, set in the
idyllic landscape around the Dutch-German border, students of string and wind instruments as well as pianists
gather to work intensively, with internationally wellknown teachers of chamber music – standard and rather
unknown works – in a wide range of instrumental combinations.
Working conditions at the Kloster Frenswegen are ideal
and the results of the three-week course are presented to
the public in numerous concerts. is summer academy
opens various possibilities for a future career: In the last
years six ensembles that had regulary participated in the
sommer academy have won important prizes at international music competitions.
Additional subject of this year’s course will be „Communication with the audience“.

Studium in Berlin und St. Petersburg, internationale Konzerttätigkeit als Solist und Kammermusiker, Professor für Violine und
Kammermusik an der Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ Berlin, langjähriger Mentor der Quartette Vogler, Kuss, Faust, Rubens, Atrium, Calder, Ebène und Anima u. a.
Studied in Berlin and St. Petersburg, international concert activity
as soloist and chamber musician, professor for violin and chamber
music at the Berlin University of Music „Hanns Eisler“, long-time
mentor of string quartets Vogler, Kuss, Faust, Rubens, Atrium, Calder, Ebène and Anima et al.
Rainer Schmidt
Studium in Hannover und bei Dorothy Delay in Cincinnati, weitere
Studien bei Walter Levin / LaSalle Quartett.1987 Beitritt zum
Hagen Quartett, 1989 Gründung des Ravinia Klaviertrios. Seit
1988 unterrichtet er Kammermusik an der Universität Mozarteum, Salzburg. 2007 wurde er Professor für Violine und Kammermusik an der Musikakademie Basel.
Studied in Hanover and in Cincinnati with Dorothy Delay. Further
studies with Walter Levin of the LaSalle Quartet. In 1987 he joined
the Hagen Quartet, in 1989 he founded the „Ravinia Trio“. Since 1988
teaching of chambermusic at the university Mozarteum, Salzburg.
Since 2007 professor for violin and chamber music at the academy of
music Basel.
Oliver Wille
Studium in Berlin und Köln, an der Indiana University und am
New England Conservatory in Boston. Zu seinen Lehrern zählen
Eberhard Feltz, Mauricio Fuks und Walter Levin sowie Mitglieder
des Alban Berg und des Cleveland Quartetts. Mit 14 Jahren Gründung des Kuss Quartetts. Professor für Streicherkammermusik
an der Hochschule Hannover, Gastprofessur in Birmingham,
künstlerischer Leiter von "quartettaffairs" in Frankfurt und designierter Intendant der "Sommerlichen Musiktage Hitzacker“.
Studied in Berlin and Cologne, at the Indiana University and the
New England Conservatory in Boston. Further teachers are Eberhard Feltz, Mauricio Fuks and Walter Levin as well as members of
the Alban Berg and the Cleveland quartet. In the age of 14 founding
of the Kuss quartet. Professor for stringchambermusic in Hanover.

Helmut Lachenmann

Studium in Bukarest und Essen, Gründer des Orlando Quartetts,
internationale Konzerttätigkeit, Gründer und bis 2011 Leiter des
Orlando-Festivals, ehemaliger Leiter der Niederländischen
Streichquartett-Akademie Amsterdam.
Studied in Bucharest and Essen, founder of the Orlando Quartet,
international concert activity, founder and director of the Orlando
Festival until 2011, former director of the Dutch String-Quartet
Academy in Amsterdam.
Christian Wetzel
Studium in Hannover. Gründungsmitglied des Ma’alot Bläserquintetts (1. Preis beim ARD Wettbewerb München). Solo Oboist
des Nationaltheaters Mannheim. 1997 – 2007 Lehrtätigkeit an
der Musikhochschule in Leipzig, seit 2008 Professor für Oboe an
der Musikhochschule Köln. Studied in Hanover. Founder of the Ma’alot windquintet (1st prize
at the ARD competition in Munich). Solo oboist in the national
theatre in Mannheim. From 1997 – 2007 lecturer at the university
of Music Leipzig, since 2008 professor for oboe at the Cologne University of Music and theatre.
Georg Klütsch
Studium in Detmold, internationale Konzerttätigkeit, langjähriger Solofagottist der Bamberger Symphoniker, Professor für Fagott an der Musikhochschule in Köln.
Studied in Detmold, concerts internationally, solo bassoonist of the
Bamberg Symphony Orchestra for many years, professor for bassoon
at the Cologne University of Music and theatre.
Reto Bieri
Studium an der Musikakademie in Basel und an der Juilliard
School New York. Internationale Wettbewerbserfolge und Konzerttätigkeit. Seit 2012 Professor für Kammermusik an der Musikhochschule Würzburg. Seit 2012 Intendant des Davos Festivals
„young artists in concert”.
Studied at the academy of music in Basel and at the Juilliard school
in New York. Prizewinner of international competitions and international concert activity. Since 2012 professor for chambermusic
at the university of Music Wuerzburg. Since 2012 artistic director
of the Davos Festival “young artists in concert”.
Anmeldebedingungen und Kursverlauf
Zur Teilnahme können sowohl einzelne Instrumentalisten
wie insbesondere auch bereits bestehende oder für die
Sommerakademie gebildete Ensembles in der Mindestbesetzung eines Trios zugelassen werden. Jedes Ensemble
sollte zwei Werke vorschlagen, die während des Kurses erarbeitet werden. Ein drittes Werk in erweiterter Besetzung,
vorwiegend aus dem Gebiet der gemischten Kammermusik,
wird auf Vorschlag des Künstlerischen Beirates erarbeitet.
Bei dieser Zusammenstellung sollte das Ensemble möglichst bestehen bleiben. Jedes Ensemble kann Wünsche äußern, bei welchem Dozenten bestimmte Werke erarbeitet
werden sollen.
Regulations for application
and course information
Individual instrumentalists and existing ensembles or ensembles formed for the course will be accepted for participation. Ensembles will be given preferred consideration and
must have at least the instrumentation of a trio. Each ensemble should have at least two works prepared. A third work
for extended groups, preferably from the area of mixed ensembles, will be worked on, based on proposals from the artistic committee. In setting up these ensembles established
groups will be kept together where possible. Each ensemble
can express preference for a particular instrumental coach to
work on a specific piece to chamber music.
Kosten und Stipendien
Die Kosten für die Kursteilnahme (inkl. Unterkunft und Verpflegung) betragen 550 Euro. Nach Erhalt der schriftlichen
Zusage werden Sie gebeten einen Teilbetrag von 90 Euro als
Einschreibegebühr bis zum 30. Juni 2015 zu entrichten, der
Restbetrag muss bis spätestens zum 1. August 2015 überwiesen werden. Über finanzielle Unterstützung in Form verschiedener Stipendien informieren Sie sich bitte auf unserer

Studied at the Franz Liszt academy. Masterclasses with Amadeus
Webersinke and Malcolm Bilson. Further studies in Bloomington,
USA. Chamber music partner from Leonidas Kavakos and Kim
Kashkashian a. o. Holding positions as professor of piano at the Liszt
Academy in Budapest and at the university of Music in Stuttgart.
Costs for the course (incl. accomodation and catering) are
550 Euro. After recieving a written acceptance, a partial sum
in the amount of 90 Euro is to be paid as a registration fee
before June 30, 2015. e rest of the total sum has to be paid
