Diana Akikol focuses on dispute resolution, in particular on international commercial arbitration. She
has acted as counsel and advisor to foreign counsel in more than 40 disputes subject to arbitration both
in Switzerland and abroad. She has also served as sole arbitrator, emergency arbitrator, co-arbitrator
and presiding arbitrator in over 15 proceedings involving amounts in dispute of up to $70 million.
Both as counsel and arbitrator, she has conducted ad hoc (including UNCITRAL) and administered
(predominantly ICC, Swiss and DIS Rules) cases governed by various procedural and substantive
laws. She has particular experience in disputes involving sales, M&A, shareholders agreements, joint
ventures, construction and engineering, agency agreements, licence and distribution agreements
(mainly in the pharmaceutical sector) and maritime cargo claims. Diana Akikol also represents
international organisations and institutions in disputes with staff members before international
administrative tribunals. In addition, she advises clients on contractual matters under Swiss law.
