Award
Bernd graduated with a diploma in Architecture
from Technical University in Darmstadt, Germany.
osa/KHBT has been awarded with an
recommendation at the YAYA award 2009.
Bernd is a partner of osa (office for subversive
architecture)/KHBT who are engaged and dedicated to
developing projects that work between art and
architecture and has been invited to several
lectures and international conferences i.e. British
Council in Moscow 2008 or Bau 2009. He is also
actively involved with universities in Europe.
While studying Architecture in Germany Bernd
gained massive experience in the field of Public Art
working for artists like Prof. Ottmar Hoerl and
Prof. Nan Hoover. He was in charge for the
Euro-sculpture in front of the European Central Bank
in Frankfurt.
Between 2002-2004 Bernd worked for Foster and
Partners mainly on a luxury lifestyle store at 5th Av.
in New York, USA. He was involved from the initial
conception until completion and was responsible for
several architectural design packages including the
complex front facade.
In 2004 Bernd moved back to Germany working
self-employed on several house conversions and has
been focused on Art and Architecture projects for his
network osa - office for subversive architecture. He
is one of the main creative minds behind Urban Oasis,
London 2004 and Kunsthuelle LPL ,Liverpool 2006.
Since 2006 Bernd is involved in a weekly TV-documentary
in Germany where house conversions are realised in
8 days and shown on TV.
He is responsible for pre-planning and planning and has
so far realised over 100 projects in 4 years.
