Liebe IFC-Mitglieder,
Diesmal hatten wir das Wetter auf unserer Seite.
Strahlender Sonnenschein erwartete uns zu
unserem Eisstock Wettkampf beim Eisstock Club
in Unterammergau. Der recht kühle Wind
erinnerte jedoch daran, dass der Winter noch
nicht ganz vorbei war. Leider entsprach die
Teilnahme nicht ganz dem schönen Wetter. Aber
die zwei Wettkampfteams und ihre Fans auf den
Zuschauerbänken hatten ihren Spass.
Außerdem wurden wir wieder bestens von den
Mitgliedern des EC Unterammergau betreut. Die
Damen hatten ganz leckeren Kuchen gebacken
und die Herren standen uns beim
Eisstockschießen mit Rat und Tat zur Seite.
Nach der Siegerehrung und Preisverteilung
saßen wir noch gemütlich beisammen.
Nicht unerwähnt bleiben darf natürlich das
Ergebnis des Wettkampfs:
Gesiegt hat die Mannschaft Kurt Gallist, Biggi Wolf, Kees Bakx und Petr Langer.
Einen guten zweiten Platz belegte die Mannschaft Jo Müller, Irmi Thomas, Gert Koelstra und Herbert Burkart.
Unser nächstes Vorhaben - Achtung: Terminänderung
3-Seen Wanderung (Geroldsee, Grubsee, Barmsee) am Sonntag, den 1. Mai
Eingebettet in Wald und Wiesen liegen die drei Seen Geroldsee, Grubsee und Barmsee in der Nähe von Klais.
Kees und Karina Bakx wollen uns bei einer Wanderung entlang der Seen die Schönheiten dieser Gegend
genießen lassen.
Wir treffen uns dazu am 1. Mai um 10.30 Uhr am Bahnhof in Oberammergau, um von dort in
Fahrgemeinschaften mit den Autos zum Bahnhof in Klais zu fahren (Klais liegt an der Bundesstraße 2 (B2)
zwischen Garmisch-Partenkirchen und Mittenwald).
Um 11.15 Uhr treffen wir am Bahnhof Klais mit den Teilnehmern, die direkt dort hinfahren, zusammen und
beginnen unsere Wanderung. Sie führt uns über die drei Seen zum Gasthof Barmsee, wo wir gegen
13.30/14.00 Uhr eine ausgiebige Pause einlegen werden.
Wer nicht an der Wanderung teilnehmen möchte (oder kann), kann auch direkt zum Gasthof fahren, um dort dann
mit uns gemeinsam zusammen zu sitzen.
Nach der Pause geht es dann zurück zu den Autos in Klais, wobei uns Kees unterwegs noch etwas Interessantes
aus der Vergangenheit zeigen wird.
Die gesamte Strecke der Wanderung beträgt etwa 13km.
Noch ein Hinweis: Bitte an entsprechendes Schuhwerk und evtl. Wanderstöcke denken.
Ausblick
Wanderung vom Ski-Stadion Garmisch-Partenkirchen zur Elmauer Alm am Samstag, den 21. Mai
Auch im Monat Mai bieten wir eine schöne Wanderung an. Und zwar möchten wir am 21 Mai durch die
Partnachklamm und über den Eckbauer zur Elmauer Alm (oberhalb vom Schloss Elmau) wandern.
Alle Einzelheiten dazu stehen in unserem nächsten Rundbrief.

Dear IFC Members,
This time we had the weather on our side. Bright sunshine awaited us at the curling club in Unterammergau for our
curling competition. The very cool wind, however, reminded us that the winter wasn’t yet over. Unfortunately, the
good weather wasn’t reflected in the participation. But the two teams and their fans on the benches had fun.
In addition, we were again well looked after by the members of the EC Unterammergau. The women had baked
delicious cakes and the men helped us with the curling with words and deeds at the side. After the award
ceremony and prize giving we sat pleasantly with one another.
Worthy of mention is, of course, the results of the competition:
The winners were the team Kurt Gallist, Biggi Wolf, Kees Bakx and Petr Langer. A worthy second place was team
Jo Müller, Irmi Thomas, Gert Koelstra and Herbert Burkart.
Our next event – Attion: new date
3-Lake Hike (Geroldsee, Grubsee, Barmsee) on Sunday, May 1
In the region of Klais lies the three lakes, Georoldsee, Grubsee and Barmsee, embedded in woods and meadows.
Kees and Karina Bakx want us to enjoy the area’s beauty on a hike along the lakes.
We will meet for this on May 1 at 10.30 at the train station in Oberammergau, in order to travel there together by
car to the train station in Klais (Klais is located on the main road (B2) between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and
Mittenwald).
At 11:15 we will meet at the train station in Klais with the participants that have traveled there directly and
begin our hike. It leads us by the three lakes to the Gasthof Barmsee, where we will have an extended break
around 13.30/14.00.
Those who can’t or don’t wish to take part in the hike, can also travel directly to the Gasthof in order to then sit with
us together there.
After the break, we then go back to the cars in Klais, where Kees along the way will show us something interesting
from the past.
The total distance of the hike is about 13km.
Another note: Please think about appropriate footwear and possibly hiking sticks.
A Look Ahead
Hike from the Ski Stadium Garmisch-Partenkirchen to the Elmauer Alm on Saturday, May 21
Also in the month of May, we are offering a nice hike. So we wish to hike through the Partnach Gorge on May 21
and via the Eckbauer to the Elmauer Alm (up above from Schloss Elmau).

Stammtisch
Our next Stammtisch will take place on Tuesday, May 3 from 19.30 in Gasthof “Zur Rose”.
