The Integration Council has been elected first in 2010 as a
successor of two former Councils that had the same function.
Election guideline
The members of the Integration Council are elected
democratically. To make sure that the Council will be
diverse and minorities are represented as well, there are
four different groups that have a fixed capacity of seats.
18 of 30 seats will be given as fixed capacities to every
group – depending on the quantity of their inhabitants in
Nürnberg. The remaining 12 seats will be distributed freely
to those candidates who got the most votes.
The four groups are:
1. ethnic
German
immigrants
(Group
“Aussiedler/Innen”)
2. people from countries in the European Union
(Group “Europäische Union”)
3. people from European countries which are not in
the EU (Group “Restliches Europa”)
4. people from all other countries in the world (Group
“Sonstige Staaten”)
