Der besondere Charakter unserer Forschungsinstitution mit ihrer Interdisziplinarität schafft
günstige Voraussetzungen, um militärwissenschaftliche Fragestellungen von unterschiedlichen Standpunkten her zu betrachten und
mit verschiedenen Blickwinkeln zu bearbeiten.
Ihr Interesse an unserer Militärakademie ist uns
wichtig. Wir lassen uns an unseren Zielsetzungen
messen. Dadurch wollen wir einen Beitrag zur
Glaubwürdigkeit der Armee und damit in das
Vertrauen der schweizerischen Sicherheitspolitik

Research and teaching
Basic and applied research are the foundations of
our teaching and constitute one of the core tasks
of MILAK. Research results flow directly into the
academic activities and work of the professional
officers.
Forschung und Lehre
Interdisciplinary approach
Die grundlagen- und anwendungsorientierte Forschung bildet die Basis für die Lehre und ist eine
der Kernaufgaben der Militärakademie. Die Forschungsergebnisse fliessen direkt in den Unterricht und in die Arbeit der Berufsoffiziere ein.
Each teaching and research unit is headed by a
professor who is aided by two assistants. In addition to their teaching duties at MILAK, these professors give lectures at universities at home and
abroad and serve as experts on various committees.
The assistants come from a variety of academic disciplines and backgrounds thus allowing
the Military Academy to approach issues concerning military science from different perspectives
and points of views.
Interdisziplinarität
Jede Dozentur wird von einem Dozenten betreut
und von je zwei Assistenten unterstützt. Die Dozenten lehren neben ihrer Tätigkeit an der MILAK
an anderen nationalen und internationalen Hochschulen und sind als Experten in verschiedenen
Gremien tätig.
Die Assistenten stammen aus unterschiedlichsten Studienrichtungen. Dadurch erreicht die MILAK, dass militärwissenschaftliche
Probleme von verschiedenen Standpunkten und
Blickwinkeln aus bearbeitet werden.
Militärtechnologie und Militärökonomie
Aus der Sicht der Militärakademie besteht aktuell
ein Manko an Forschung und Lehre in den
Fachgebieten Militärtechnologie und Militärökonomie. Daher sollen in diesen Fachgebieten mittelfristig neue Dozenturen entstehen.

MILAK does not currently offer courses in military technology or military economics but plans to
establish these two new units to enhance teaching and research activities.

Die Dozentur
Menschenführung und Kommunikation
Zivile und militärische Führungskulturen mit ihren Gemeinsamkeiten und
Unterschieden sowie Fragen der militärischen Ethik bilden den Rahmen
der Forschungsinteressen. Die Resultate finden sich in den vom Dozenten
verfassten praxisnahen Büchern, die in mehreren Sprachen erschienen
sind.
Die Lehrinhalte der an der MILAK und der ETH Zürich angebotenen
Vorlesungen und Seminare sowie die an anderen in- und ausländischen
Hochschulen gehaltenen Gastreferate fokussieren die Themen Menschenorientierte Führung, Vortrags- und Diskussionstechnik sowie Beziehungen
und Beziehungsstörungen im Berufsalltag.
Die rege Vortragstätigkeit der Dozenturmitglieder in Armee-, Hochschul- und Wirtschaftskreisen stellt den permanenten Kontakt und den Erfahrungsaustausch mit der Praxis sicher.

Leadership and Communication
The focus of this teaching and research unit is research into military ethics
as well as into the field of civilian and military forms of leadership, including shared as well as disparate characteristics. Findings in this area of
research have been the basis for various handbooks and textbooks
published in many languages.
The subject matter taught by the Leadership and Communication
unit in seminars and lectures at MILAK, the ETH as well as at universities
at home and abroad focuses on such topics as people-oriented leadership,
presentation and discussion skills as well as relationships and interpersonal conflicts in professional life.
Lectures delivered by this teaching and research unit in the military, at universities and in the public sector ensure a continuing contact and
exchange of experiences between MILAK and practitioners in the field.
