Wir – das International Office der Fachhochschule Dortmund, möchten dir mit diesem Semesterprogramm einen
kleinen Überblick zu den interessanten und kostenlosen/
preisgünstigen Veranstaltungen und Angebote rund um
internationale Themen in- und um die FH geben. Wenn du
selbst auch eine Idee für interessante Veranstaltungen
hast, oder wenn du mal einen Kulturabend mitgestalten
möchtest, dann melde dich einfach im International Office:

We – the International Office from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund, designed this semester programme to give you an overview of many interesting
cost-free/low-budget events and offers of international relevance in and around the University of Applied Sciences
and Arts Dortmund. Should you yourself come across an
event that might be interesting, or if you want to organise

Einmal pro Semester veranstaltet das International Office mit verschiedenen Partnern und Studierenden der
Technischen Universität Dortmund und der Fachhochschule
Dortmund die Veranstaltungsreihe Internationales Kulturcafé (IKC). Das Internationale Kulturcafé soll ausländische
Studierende dabei unterstützen, ihr Heimatland mit seinen Traditionen, Spezialitäten und KünstlerInnen in einem
lockeren Rahmen vorstellen zu können. Alle Studierende
sind eingeladen, einen Abend zu ihrem Land zu organisieren. www.fh-dortmund.de/ikc Once a semester the International Office organizes an event called International
Culture Café (IKC) in cooperation with various partners.
This offers foreign students the opportunity to present their
home countries with their traditions, specialties and artists. All students are invited to organize such an evening.

InterKulTreff ist ein Treffpunkt für alle Studierende, die
Lust haben neue Kontakte zu knüpfen, andere Kulturen
kennen zu lernen oder gemeinsam etwas zu unternehmen.
Wir sind deutsche und internationale Studierende und
haben Lust auf interkulturellen Austausch! Dafür planen
wir jeden Monat neue Aktivitäten und orientieren uns dabei an deinen Interessen. Wenn du gerne neue Kontakte
knüpfst, deine Sprachkenntnisse verbessern möchtest,
Lust hast, andere Kulturen kennen zu lernen, bist du herzlich willkommen bei uns.
InterKulTreff steht für interkulturelle Vielfalt an der Fachhochschule Dortmund und verbindet interessante Themen,
Integration und spaßige Aktionen miteinander!

Paten-programm
Der erste Schritt ist immer der schwerste. Dies gilt vor
allem dann, wenn man als StudentIn aus dem Ausland an
die Fachhochschule Dortmund kommt: ein fremdes Land,
eine andere Sprache und Kultur und niemanden oder nur
wenige, die man kennt. Um dir die ersten Schritte in deinem >neuen< Leben ein bisschen zu erleichtern, lädt das
International Office dich ganz herzlich zum Paten-Programm ein. In dem Paten-Programm kannst du das Leben
in Dortmund kennenlernen, Orientierung im Studienalltag
bekommen und neue Freunde finden.
PatenInnen sind deutsche und internationale Studierende aus höheren Semestern, die einige Erfahrungen im
Studium und zum Leben in Dortmund gesammelt haben

InterKulTreff is a meeting point for all students, who want
to get to know other students, want to learn about other cultures or just like to do something together.
We are German and international students and like to engage in an intercultural exchange. To do so, we plan new
activites every month and concentrate on your interests. If
you like establishing new contacts with other students, improving your language skills and getting to know different
cultures, you are very welcome at our events!
InterKulTreff means intercultural variety at the University
of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund and connects interesting topics, integration and fun activities! We always

The first step is always the hardest. This is even more true
when one comes to the University of Applied Sciences and
Arts Dortmund as a student from abroad: foreign country,
different language and culture and you do not know anybody. The International Office invites you to take part in our
Study-Buddy-Programme, which can help you to start easier into your new life. With the Study-Buddy-Programme
you are going to get to know the life in Dortmund, get some
orientation in the study routine and find new friends.
Study-Buddies are German and international students
from higher semesters who are experienced in studying at
our university and know a lot about life in Dortmund. They
are happy to help you with moral and practical support!

durch das bunte Labyrinth der Stände und genießt die LiveMusik, Kunst und Poesie. Take a stroll through the colourful flea market by night and enjoy some live music, art and

IKT: Stadtführung Köln 14.10.15 Wir fahren mit euch in
die wundervolle Stadt am Rhein. Bei einer Altstadtführung
werden wir die Geschichte Kölns erleben und Einblicke in
den Dom und die Altstadt erhalten. We will visit the wonderful city by the river Rhine. We organise a guided tour
through Cologne and you will gain insight into the famous
Cathedral and the historic part of the city! FREE
Exkursion Berlin 06.11. – 08.11.15 Das International Office und die Auslandsgesellschaft organisieren für euch ein
Wochenendausflug nach Berlin! Die Anreise und die Unterkunft sind im Preis inbegriffen. The International Office and

Stadionführung Borussia Dortmund 22.09.15 18.30 Uhr
Es ist eines der berühmtesten Fußballstadien in Europa
und wurde von der »Times« als bestes Stadion gekürt, aufgrund der ausgezeichneten Atmosphäre. Mit einer interessanten Stadionführung und einem Gang durch das Museum
des Borussia Dortmund (Borusseum genannt) wirst du
eine Menge über die Fußballgeschichte erfahren!

and was elected best football stadium by »Times« for its
renowned atmosphere. You will get to know the whole history of football by a very interesting guidance and a walk

the Auslandsgesellschaft are organizing a weekend trip to
Berlin and you can take part in it! Transport and accommodation are included. 40€
IKC: Nigeria 13.11.15 ab 19 Uhr Die internationalen Studierenden aus Nigeria präsentieren an diesem Abend ihr
Land, ihre Kultur und ihre Traditionen. International students from Nigeria will present their country, culture and
their traditions. FREE
IKT: Ukrainischer Kochkurs 11.11.15 In diesem Monat
werden wir gemeinsam kochen. Kochen ist eine tolle Art
und Weise eine neue Kultur kennenzulernen. In diesem Monat werden ukrainische Studierende gemeinsam mit euch
ihre traditionellen Speisen zubereiten. This month we will
cook together! Cooking is a great way for getting to know
new cultures. This month Ukrainian students will prepare

IKT: Fußballmuseum Dortmund 13.01.16 Fußball verbindet Kulturen! Internationale und deutsche Studierende haben bei diesem InterKulTreff die Möglichkeit sich das neue
Fußballmuseum in der Dortmunder Innenstadt anzusehen!
Jeder ist eingeladen! Football combines cultures! International and German students have the great possibility to visit
the new Football Museum in Dortmund! Everyone is invited!

IKT: Theater Dortmund 10.02.16 Das Dortmunder Theater bietet verschiedene Aufführungen an, wie z.B. Opern,
Ballett, Konzerte und Schauspiel! Es gilt durch die Vielfalt
der Aufführungen als eines der produktivsten Theater Europas. The Dortmund Theatre offers different performances,
which includes operas, ballets, concerts and plays! Because
of its variety the Dortmund Theatre is considered one of the
most productive theatres in Europe! FREE
15. Dortmunder DEW21-Museumsnacht 19.09.15 Die
DEW21-Museumsnacht bietet eine Nacht mit viel Action,
Kunst und Kultur. Verschiedene Kultureinrichtungen laden
zu einem Programm mit insgesamt 600 Einzelveranstaltungen an. The DEW21-Night of Museums offers a night with
a lot of action, art and culture. Different cultural buildings
invite to a programme with 600 small events. 11€
IKT: Hochseilgarten 09.09.15 Im September laden wir zu
einer gemeinsamen Klettertour in den Hochseilgarten im
Revierpark Wischlingen ein. Der Hochseilgarten beinhaltet
14 Parcours. Die Parcours umfassen verschiedene Elemente
und lange Seilrutschen. Auf diesen Parcours könnt ihr euch
neuen Herausforderungen stellen, eure Ängste überwinden und viel Spaß erleben. In September we invite you to

Weihnachtsmarkt Dortmund 19.11. – 30.12.15 Mit rund
300 Ständen gilt der Dortmunder Weihnachtsmarkt zu einem der größten Weihnachtsmärkte Deutschlands. Es gibt
tolle Stände, die Kunsthandwerk, leckeren Glühwein und
leckeres Essen anbieten. With about 300 stalls the Christmas market in Dortmund is one of the biggest Christmas
markets in Germany! You can have a look at special handicraft and buy delicious food and hot wine punch! FREE
IKT: Internationaler Weihnachtsmarkt Essen 09.12.15
Im Rahmen des InterKulTreffs werden wir in diesem Jahr
gemeinsam den Weihnachtsmarkt in Essen entdecken.
Dort gibt es rund 250 Stände vom Willy-Brandt-Platz entlang der Rathenaustraße über den Kennedyplatz bis zum
Flachsmarkt. Eine Besonderheit ist die Vielfalt an Köstlichkeiten, diese werden aus 20 verschiedenen Ländern und
Regionen Deutschlands angeboten. We will discover the
Christmas market in Essen with the InterKulTreff. It has 250
stalls along the Willy-Brandt-Square, Rathenaustraße and
Kennedy square reaching up to the Flachsmarket. A specialty about this market is the variety of the different types of
food from 20 different countries and regions of Germany.

Internationale Weihnachtsfeier 11.12.15 Jedes Jahr feiern wir unsere »International Xmas Party«. Hier könnt ihr
erfahren, wie man in Deutschland und der ganzen Welt
Weihnachten feiert. Es wird verschiedene Spiele, kleine Geschenke, Livemusik, leckeres Essen und Glühwein geben.
Every year we celebrate our »International Xmas Party«.
Everybody can get to know how Germany and other countries all over the world celebrate Christmas! You can look

Der AStA lädt euch einmal im Monat ein. GeWaGeDeDa ist

mal ein bisschen Spaß zu haben und nette Leute zu treffen!

you to the GeWaGeDeDa Workshops. It is a free workshop
