Say no to racism!
Unfortunately, we find it too heavy or
less important to talk about and tackle
this term but it is said in our parable
that when a person run from his
problem, that problem remains his
problem and eventually becomes
problems.
Racism is the belief that a particular
race is superior or inferior to another,
that a person’s social and moral traits
are predetermined by his or her inborn
biological characteristics.
Racism has existed throughout human
history and this has influenced wars,
slavery, the formation of nations and
legal code. In my school days, I defined
racism as ”People oppress People”
POP.

the risks involve when peoples embark in
journey as refugees all to have a better
tomorrow and not always for oneself but
also for relatives and loved ones. Towards
the end of this discussion, I gave room for
questions and I concluded by advising the
children to always dedicate their time to
studying and to demonstrate love
because both are keys to a better future
as leaders of tomorrow.
Few people these days consider
themselves to be racists and calling
someone a racist is deeply offensive. Yet
racism is just as dangerous as it was a
generation ago. Nowadays we seem to
have a lot of racism but very few
racists…..How do we address this fact?
And I asked: “why my love? “

meeting with primary school pupils and in

speak the animals languages but I noticed
today that it is not true, you went to
school and you speak our language and I
agree with your advises.”
I asked: “But who told you these things?”
She answered: “My uncle.”
There is need to re-address peoples old
stories in a way to reconstruct human
values in schools. There is need that
parent do the parental positive
orientation to children at homes to
rebalance inequality amongst race,
culture, ethnic, belief. This will as well
promote a balanced and well globalized
system without fear. Rising inequality can
result in an increase racial bias for
scapegoating the minorities.

Today, there is a big need for social
relations of coexistence, collaboration
and cohesion….but most times, based on
racism, it is preferred that different races
should remain segregated and apart from
one another and to my understanding,
this is serious and it´s something more
than discrimination. Discrimination is an
act and manner of treatment or
preference between A and B which could
be a person or thing. It prompts
favouritism to one side and bias mind not
in favour of who merits. Xenophobia is
another related term which is dislike of or
prejudice against people from other
countries. But Racism may be defined as
the hatred of one person by another or
the belief that another person is less than
human because of skin color, language,
customs, place of birth.
The alarm of Racism blows often and
easily with changing economic situation
and with increased immigration to a
region. The best way to fight or tackle
Racism as a tree at this point, is by cutting
down its branches and these branches
are mostly discrimination and prejudice.
For a perfect globalization and Social
Integration, working together among
different populations and cultures can be
seen as a dynamic and principled process
where all persons, black or white,
participate in dialogue to achieve and
maintain peaceful social relations.
Social Integration should be focused on
the need to move toward a safe, stable
and just society by forming conditions of
social disintegration - social
fragmentation and exclusion and by
expanding and strengthening conditions
of social disorderliness.
Nein zu Rassismus und Intoleranz
Bright Igbinovia stammt aus Nigeria
und lebte lange Zeit in Italien bevor
vor einigen Monaten nach
Deutschland gekommen ist. Er
engagiert sich schon lange gegen
Rassismus und ist Mitbegründer der
Nigerian Union of Brindisi, einer
Organisation, die in Italien für die
Integration von Einwanderern und
gegen Vorurteile und Rassismus
kämpft.
„Ein Sprichwort besagt, dass wenn
man vor einen Problem flieht, dieses
Problem bleibt und schlussendlich zu
einer Vielzahl von Problemen wird.
Rassismus durchzieht die
Menschheitsgeschichte; er hat Kriege
hervorgebracht, Sklaverei, die
Entstehung von Staaten und die
Gesetzgebung bestimmt.“

The work with pupils is in Bright´s opinion a very important aspect to fight racism
Bright stellt fest:
1. Rassismus und Intoleranz sind
ein und dasselbe
2. Rassismus gibt es weltweit
3. Rassismus ist gleich Hass
4. Diskriminierung und Vorurteile
sind die Wurzel von Rassismus
5. Es wird nicht genügend getan,
um die Wurzel von Vorurteilen
auszurotten und viele
unterstützen dies, indem sie
ihre Ethnizität verleugnen.
6. Niemand wird als Rassist
geboren.
„Beispielsweise traf ich mich vor
einigen Monaten mit Grundschülern
und erzählte ihnen meine persönliche
Geschichte. Ich erzählte ihnen von
Nigeria und welche Risiken Flüchtlinge
auf sich nehmen, um eine bessere
Zukunft für sich und ihre Familien zu
schaffen. Am Ende gab ich Raum für
ihre Fragen und ermutigte sie, Zeit in
ihre Ausbildung zu investieren und
Liebe zu zeigen, denn beides sind
Schlüssel für eine gute Zukunft.
Am Ende kam ein kleines Mädchen auf
mich zu und bat mich mit zitternder
Stimme: „Versprich mir, dass du immer
mein Freund bleibst!“
Ich versprach es ihr und schloss sie in
die Arme. Sie brach in Tränen aus und
sagte: „Ich hatte immer Angst vor
Schwarzen! Danke, Bright!“
Ich fragte sie: „Warum denn, meine
Liebe?“ „Man hat mir erzählt, dass sie
schneller als Löwen rennen können
und, dass sie Tiersprachen sprechen.
Aber heute habe ich gesehen, dass es
nicht stimmt. Du sprichst unsere
Sprache und ich stimme deinen
Ratschlägen zu.“ Ich fragte sie „Wer hat
dir das erzählt?“ Sie antwortete:
„Mein Onkel“
Bright betont, dass eben solche
Vorurteile in der Schule hinterfragt
werden müssen und auch die Eltern
ihre Kinder zu Offenheit und Toleranz
erziehen müssen. Nur so könne eine
globale Welt ohne Angst geschaffen
werden. Wo solche Vorurteile weiter
bestehen, werden Minderheiten in
Zeiten wirtschaftlicher Krisen oder bei
zunehmender Einwanderung leicht zu
Sündenböcken gemacht.
„Eine perfekte Globalisierung und
soziale Gemeinschaft entsteht dort, wo
alle Menschen, ob schwarz oder weiß,
an einem gemeinsamen Dialog arbeiten
und nach einem friedlichen
Zusammenleben streben.“ Integration
sollte sich darauf fokussieren, eine
stabile und sichere Gesellschaft zu
formen, die Trennungen überwindet.

Bright betont die Wichtigkeit einer
Gesellschaft, die vom Zusammenleben
und Zusammenhalten bestimmt wird.
Dennoch tendieren Gesellschaften
dazu, an Trennungen festzuhalten.
Neben offenem Hass sieht Bright im
Rassismus die Art und Weise wie man
sich gegenüber einer anderen Person
verhält; wen man bevorzugt und
gegenüber wem man Vorurteile hegt.
Kaum jemand würde sich selbst als
Rassist bezeichnen, das wäre eher eine
Beleidigung. „Es scheint so, als hätten
wir viel Rassismus, aber keine
Rassisten… wie kann das sein?“
