Description:
The Holstein Friesian Dairy farm is located about 30km south west of Budapest in the village of Tarnok, neighbouring the town of Erd and situated between the 2 major motorways
M7 and M6.
The farm site is connected with Tarnok by an asphalt road. The major part of farm land is
mainly around the farm site but also some parcels are dispersed around the villages of
Soskut and Pusztazamor.
The dairy farm has a milk contingency of 5,92 Mio kg/year. The farm is actually producing
4,5 Mio kg. Average milking performance by cow and year is 7.200kg
The farm is equipped with standard machinery. Part of field work is done by contractors.
The Kft employs 37 people.
Total surface:
541 ha, mainly arable land, pasture land and little forest
25ha (farm site), 416ha agricultural land (Kft), 100ha agricultural land (right of utilisation)
Animals:
628 milking cows and 187 heads of calving heifers

1. Milking parlour
The parlour is a double-double 12 herring bone configuration. Cows are herded in
and out through the western side of the parlour twice per day. The building is constructed of solid concrete walls, a corrugated sheet metal roof supported by a
wooden frame. In the same building are three chilled storage tanks where fresh milk
is stored, with a capacity of ??l.
2. Cow sheds, Freestall barn
There are old 1960s tie stall barns which have been refurbished in to freestall barns.
In 1996 two modern freestyle barns were built to accommodate extra cows closer to
the milking parlour.

3. Heifer shed and Hay-Straw barn
The Heifers are kept under a shelter. The metal frame structure has no sides and is
open. The metal frame supports a flat corrugated metal roof. Two shelters are located in the northern border of the farm. The hay and straw is also stored under a
very simple structure with a metal frame and pitched corrugated metal roof.
