Eric-Michael Dokter Head of Practice Group Partner, Dipl.-Ing. (Elec.) German Patent Attorney / European Patent Attorney / European Trademark Attorney / European Design Attorney Eric-Michael Dokter, born in 1970, graduated from the Technical University in Munich as an electrical engineer (Dipl.-Ing.) with expertise in communication and information technology. From 1995 to 1999, he worked for Siemens Aktiengesellschaft in Munich as a patent engineer. In addition to his general electrical engineering knowledge, Mr. Dokter is especially experienced in the field of software-related inventions. He joined VJP in 1999. He focuses with his work on German, European and International patent applications as well as legal opinions, litigation, and opposition, nullity and invalidation proceedings. He founded VJP’s Dresden office in 2001, and is responsible for the management of that office. Mr. Dokter is registered as a German Patent Attorney, a European Patent Attorney, a European Trademark Attorney, and as a European Design Attorney. From 1999 until the end of 2014, he was a member of the Examination Committee for the European Qualifying Examination for European Patent Attorneys.
