America’s manufacturing renaissance is evidenced by the robust growth in the automotive sector in the
Southeast region of the United States. South Carolina is home to 250 automotive suppliers and the leading producer and exporter of passenger vehicles and tires. Thanks to a reliable workforce, breakthroughs
in manufacturing processes and collaborations with public and private partners, South Carolina has become the epicenter of a growing global automotive cluster and a breeding ground for tomorrow’s innovations. The USA’s manufacturing industry is experiencing a renaissance, and is spurred on by the changes and
possibilities of digitalization (industrial internet, Industry 4.0, Internet of Things). Ohio in the US MidWest is one of the leading states in manufacturing recovery and awarded as the No. 1 US investment
location. The Get Together gives attendees the opportunity to get to know about the country and Ohio
and socialize with local companies, multipliers and top scientists from universities. The event is hosted
by Baden-Württemberg International (bw-i) and the economic development organizations REDI

Infrastruktur, Handel, Innovation und Supply Chain konzentriert. Seminar-Redner werden des Korridor‘s
inhärenten Stärken und zukunftliche Ziele hervorheben. Zudem werden die bedeutenden Investitionen
entlang der Golfküste im Energiesektor diskutiert – einschließlich der unteren 48 Staatens erste
LNG-Export Terminal.
As one of 24 federally-designated “Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership” (IMCP)
regions, the Louisiana Chemical Corridor is the only IMCP focusing on the chemical and chemical
derivatives industry. This initiative encompasses 88 public and private organizations that have partnered with the objective of making the entire region more globally competitive by focusing on the
region’s workforce, infrastructure, trade, innovation, and supply chain. Seminar speakers will highlight
the Corridor’s inherent strengths and future objectives and discuss the significant energy investments –
including the lower 48 states’ first LNG export terminal – along the Gulf Coast.

Die Plattform Industrie 4.0, bestehend aus hochrangigen Vertretern aus Politik und Spitzen-Vertretern
aus Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Gewerkschaften, hat 2015 ihre Arbeit aufgenommen. Sie zeigt den
Weg, wie Industrie 4.0 Deutschland zum modernsten Industriestandort der Welt machen kann.
2016 verleiht die HANNOVER MESSE erneut unter der Schirmherrschaft des Niedersächsischen Ministers für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Verkehr, Olaf Lies, den ROBOTICS AWARD – den Preis für angewandte
Roboterlösungen.
Im Rahmen des Zukunftsdialoges wird die Plattform Industrie 4.0 die Ergebnisse nach einem Jahr Arbeit präsentieren. Dabei werden die ersten Handlungsempfehlungen in den Themenfeldern Standardisierung, Forschung, Sicherheit, Recht und Arbeitswelt vorgestellt und diskutiert. Die Plattform Industrie 4.0 ist ein gefragter internationaler Kooperationspartner. Die Konferenz wird Einblicke in die Zusammenarbeit mit internationalen Partnern geben und die Meilensteine der Plattform Industrie 4.0
für das kommende Jahr vorstellen.
Robotergestützte Automation ist heute nicht mehr aus der Wirtschaft wegzudenken – in nahezu allen
Branchen wird „Kollege Roboter“ bereits eingesetzt und auch die kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen öffnen sich der robotergestützten Automatisierung zunehmend.
Bringing together top-ranking representatives from politics, industry, science and trade unions, the
Plattform Industrie 4.0 started operations in 2015. It shows the way how Industry 4.0 can make Germany the most modern industrial site in the world.
Within the scope of the dialogue about the future, the Plattform Industrie 4.0 will present its findings
after one year of work. Initial recommendations for action in the fields of standardization, research, safety, law and work environment will be presented and discussed. The Plattform Industrie 4.0 is a
sought-after international cooperation partner. The conference will give insight into the collaboration
with international partners and present the milestones of the Plattform Industrie 4.0 for the next year.

Die Veranstaltung bietet einen Überblick über industrielle Ressourceneffizienz heute und morgen. Zunächst wird in einem allgemeinen Einführungsvortrag der ökonomische und ökologische Nutzen des
sparsamen Umgangs mit Material, Wasser, Energie u.v.m. dargestellt sowie erste Umsetzungsunterstützungen durch das bundesweite Kompetenzzentrum VDI ZRE präsentiert. Die Deutsche Bundes­
stiftung Umwelt und das RKW erläutern im weiteren Verlauf, wie die Umsetzung in Unternehmen
konkret aussehen kann und stellen Erfolgsgeschichten vor. Den Blick in die Zukunft der industriellen
Produktion lenkt der Vortrag der Ultraeffizienzfabrik, die Effizienz auf allen Ebenen des Unternehmens
umsetzen will. Ein reger Dialog zwischen Vortragenden und Publikum ist ausdrücklich erwünscht und
wird durch die Moderatorin unterstützt.
The event will provide an overview of industrial resource efficiency today and tomorrow. First, in a
general introductory the economic and ecological benefits of the efficient use of materials, water,
energy shall be presented and implementation support through the nationwide competence center
VDI ZRE shall be shown. The German Environment Foundation and the RKW show how implementa­
tion in practice in companies work by providing success stories. The look into the future of industrial
production directs the presentation of ultra efficient factory that wants to implement efficiency at all
levels of the company. An active dialogue between presenters and audience is encouraged and
supported by the presenter.

Die Energy findet 2016 zum ersten Mal unter dem Motto Integrated Energy statt. Herzstück und begehbarer Showroom dieses Leitthemas wird der Integrated Energy Plaza in Halle 27 sein. Dort wird die
gesamte Wertschöpfungskette von der Energieerzeugung über die Verteilung, Speicherung bis zur Energienachfrageseite abgebildet. Das Energiesystem der Zukunft wird auf moderne, interaktive Weise
erlebbar gemacht.
Seit jeher ist der Marktplatz der zentrale Anlaufpunkt für Neuigkeiten und die Gelegenheit zum
gemeinsamen Austausch – so auch in der MobiliTec.
Energy 2016 takes place for the first time under the motto Integrated Energy. Center piece and walk-in
showroom of this key theme will be the Integrated Energy Plaza in hall 27. There the entire value chain
is shown from energy generation to distribution, storage up to energy demand-side management. The
energy system of the future will be brought to life in a modern and interactive way.

What does the secure, efficient, sustainable and competitive power supply system of the future look like?
Energy demand is rising worldwide, but in most regions – even in developed countries – the infrastructure is aging. Also, as renewable energies gain importance, demands on the power grid are rising, with
volatile and decentralized power supply threatening its stability. Both the political and business
spheres are calling for comprehensive renovation of the energy infrastructure, and closer coordination
between energy generation, distribution, storage and consumption.
The Smart Grids Forum offers lectures from experts and panel discussions. It is integrated in the themed presentation Smart Grids and is supported by the German Federation of the New Energy Economy
(bne), the German Trade & Invest, the German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information
Technologies (VDE) and the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers.

The provincial government of Noord-Brabant in the Netherlands has the ambition that our region is independent from non-renewable energy in 2050. To reach this goal we work closely with High Tech industry, knowledge institutions and the people of our region. Come to our Energy Talk to get the details on
the Smart Energy, Smart Metering and Smart Mobility projects that help us to preserve our region. These
projects accelerate the social innovation that is needed for an energy transition. We – Enexis (network

Industry – Discover Solutions“ behandelt das Forum „Smart Industries der Niederlande“ verschiedene
Themen wie: erneuerbare Energien, digitale Zusammenarbeit innerhalb der Wertschöpfungsketten,
Integration von IT-Systemen, Medizintechnik, Virtual Reality und Zertifizierung des 3D-Metalldrucks
sowie die Strategie von Unternehmen, Wissenschaft und Regierung im Bereich Integrated Industry

suppliers, start-ups and network organizations – present their competences and performance as innovative development partners. Also, in-depth presentations and lively discussions with experts from

The next generation of industrial systems and infrastructures will be smart, globally networked, and
highly integrated, responding to the challenges that the world faces today, such as demographic
change and resource and energy efficiency. These systems will require engineering and management

cyber‐physical systems of systems from the perspective of different sectors (electric grids,

There are many uncertainties surrounding climate change: how fast is it going, how do different
factors contribute? New system solutions are needed to make both energy and material use sustainable or circular and thereby reduce humanities footprint. To tackle this the NWO institutes SRON and
DIFFER along with their partners will present two different approaches inspired by science and resulting in innovative technologies. The first resolves around Monitoring Earth from Space and the advanced sensor systems used to study earth surface. The second revolves around energy resources and their
sustainable and circular use, from nuclear fusion developed at ITER to Solar Fuels developed by CO2
recycling.

Organized by the German American Chambers of Commerce (GACCs; or AHK USA in German), this German-language seminar will cover the basics of what foreign companies need to successfully enter the
US market, and how the GACCs can help. A first-hand report from a successful German company will
round out the seminar, giving participants time for questions and answers. This event will focus on legal topics, IT and startups, while a similar event on Thursday, April 28 will focus on sales strategies as
well as machinery and logistics.

enable mass production. Finally there is a potential to generate a key technology for both countries

Russland steckt in einer handfesten wirtschaftlichen Krise, hervorgerufen durch die starke Abhängigkeit von Rohstoffexporten und mäßige Strukturreformen in den letzten 10 Jahren. Diese Rezession wird
von politischer Seite durch Sanktionen des Westens noch verstärkt. Trotzdem bleibt Russland für sehr
viele deutsche und internationale Unternehmen weiterhin ein strategischer Markt, den es sich lohnt
zu bearbeiten. Gerade jetzt bieten sich Möglichkeiten, an welche in den letzten Jahren gar nicht zu
denken war. Die „Türen“ russischer Partnern lassen sich viel schneller öffnen, es zeichnet sich eine Entspannung des Arbeitsmarktes ab oder die Preise für Immobilien und Grundstücke sind günstig wie nie.

Wir geben in unserem Workshop einen Einblick ins aktuelle Russlandgeschäft und zeigen auf, welche
Möglichkeiten Unternehmen noch immer haben Geschäfte in Russland zu machen. Unsere Mitgliedsunternehmen berichten direkt aus der Praxis, welche Ansätze sie gefunden haben.
Russia is facing a heavy economic crisis caused by a strong dependence on raw material exports and a
lack of structural reforms over the last 10 years. From the political side, this recession is reinforced by
sanctions imposed by the West. Nevertheless for many German and international companies Russia
still remains a strategic market which is worth working on. This very moment provides a wide range of
possibilities like “open doors” to Russian partners, easing of the labor market tension or attractive
prices for real estate and land which one could not think of in recent years.
In our workshop we provide an insight into the current business of Russia and demonstrate still present
possibilities for doing business in Russia. Our member companies report about approaches they have
found based on their own practical experience.

Im Fokus der Podiumsveranstaltung „Wirtschaftspartner USA – Chancen und Risiken für deutsche Unternehmen“ stehen daher aktuelle Entwicklungen in der US-Industrie sowie praktische Fragen des US-Geschäfts.
The United States, thanks to its tremendous economic strength, is extremely important for the German
export industry. In 2015, the country became Germany’s most important national trading partner.
The panels will focus on recent developments in the U.S. industrial sector and address practical questions of doing business in the U.S.

Student/-innen auf der weltweit größten Industriemesse für Technik begeistert. Live erleben sie die
Innovationen der Industrie in geführten Touren nach Themengebieten und in den Pavillons an Halle 11
haben alle die Möglichkeit, Technik auszuprobieren.
Programm/Program
Am Messefreitag, dem 29. April 2016, bietet Tec2You unter dem Motto Festival of Technology darüber
hinaus allen Jugendlichen ab 15 Jahren einen erlebnisreichen Besuch der HANNOVER MESSE zum
Sondereintrittspreis von 3,00 EUR.
The Tec2You initiative makes it possible – and very attractive – for school leavers and students to take a
trip to Hannover in order to attend HANNOVER MESSE, where they can discover exciting careers in
engineering and other technical fields. The program is particularly targeted at young people in their
final year of schooling or vocational training, as well as first-semester students and enrollees of
vocational schools. Friday, 29 April, is the special Festival of Technology at Tec2You, which features an
exciting program rich in hands-on experience. This program – for which admission costs only EUR 3 per
person – is aimed at young people 15 or older.
