授業目標/概要: The course focuses on conversational spoken English and enables students to
feel at ease communicating with the teacher and fellow students in the second language. The units
studied focus on conversation structure and the strategies used by speakers to shape and develop
whole spoken conversation texts.
授業計面/内容: Students will:
- improve English listening ability by weekly internet listening
- improve their own conversation ability by learning to structure their own in-class conversations
that include stories and strategies.

teacher-provided (must be downloaded)
YOU MUST BRING a clear file folder with pockets to the Week 2 class
評価方法:
a) weekly quizzes = 15%
b) attendance and participation = 15%
c) listening homework = 20%
d) Mid-semester Exam = 20%
e) Final Exam = 30%
4 strikes and you are out!
1) 1 absent = 1 X
2) 1 late = 1/2 X 3) phone use = 4 X 4) Overuse of Japanese = 1/2 X
5) failure to bring a working computer = 1/2 X 6) failure to do homework = 1/2 X
NOTE WELL:
1. I DO EXCLUDE STUDENTS DURING THE SEMESTER WHO COME TO CLASS BUT
DO NOT MAKE AN EFFORT AND ARE FAILING.
