Es muss dafür ein bedeutender Teil der Umsätze oder der Forschungs- und Entwicklungsausgaben der Unternehmen auf den Bereich Nanotechnologie entfallen. Maximal 15 Unternehmen sind im Index enthalten und werden nach Marktkapitalisierung gewichtet. Die Berechnung erfolgt als Performance-Index in USD bei jährlicher Anpassung.
