Michael Rüdiger (born in 1964) started his professional career in 1983 as a bank trainee at Raiffeisenbank
Kurhessen eG, Kassel, Germany. He went on to study at Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany
and graduated in Business Studies. Michael Rüdiger then joined the trainee programme of Hoffmann-La
Roche, Basel, Switzerland.
From 1991 to 1996, he worked in Risk Management at the former Schweizerische Kreditanstalt in
Zurich, Switzerland and Frankfurt/Main, Germany before being appointed to the Management Board of
Schweizerische Bankgesellschaft (Deutschland) AG, now UBS, in 1996 for two years. From 1998 to 2000,
Michael Rüdiger was Managing Director of Allianz Asset Management GmbH.
From end of 2000, he held various management roles within the Credit Suisse Group, including CEO of
Credit Suisse (Deutschland) AG.
With effect from 1 March 2008, Credit Suisse appointed Michael Rüdiger Chief Executive Officer for
Central Europe.
Michael Rüdiger has been the Chief Executive Officer of DekaBank since 1 November 2012.
