The killer cell immunoglobulin-like receptor
KIR3DL2 licenses the differentiation of
pathogenic T cells

My research focuses on studying the role of killer cell
immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) interactions with HLA-class I in
directing T and innate lymphocyte cell differentiation. KIR3DL2 is a
framework gene, expressed at much higher frequencies on T and
innate lymphocyte cells than other KIR, making it more readily
amenable for studying KIR biology. I am investigating factors which
regulate the expression of this receptor, its ligand specificity and
how receptor ligation affects T cell and innate lymphocyte
differentiation.
