Seaweed Laver
This cute, octopus-shaped treat comes from a legend
that octopuses once protected Kishiwada-jo Castle
during a battle. Now the octopus is loved as a lucky
symbol in Minami-Senshu.

072-422-2257
This octopus is used in Osaka’s famous takoyaki
octopus balls! The Izumi-dako brand is the result
of the efforts of local fishermen to brand the
madako octopus that can be caught in Senshu.
Pickled mizu-nasu
eggplant and fresh
shrimp from Osaka
Bay combine to
form this unique
regional cuisine.
Minami-Senshu has lots of
nationally famous local specialties.
Senshu's mizu-nasu eggplant is now well known
nationwide. Its high water content and the fact
that it can be eaten raw makes it special. It
rapidly loses freshness when exposed to air, so
leave it in the bran until directly before serving.
See information and recipes here!
