銃撃　島崎ろでぃー写真展
国会前デモ、反レイシズム・カウンター・デモ、反原発デモ等の報道写真家とし
て『週刊金曜日』、BS-TBS、その他民放各局等マスメディアで活躍する島崎ろでぃー
が、原宿キャットストリートのGalaxy - 銀河系で初の大規模個展を行います。
この展覧会は、路上ポートレイトから政治運動の現場にいたるまで、彼が2009
年にカメラマンとしてのキャリアをスタートして以降現在までの足跡を、テーマ別
に整理したものです。被写体との個人的な関係が色濃く映しだされた初期の作品か
ら、3.11の東北大震災／福島原発事故をきっかけに被災地や社会運動の現場へ積極
的にコミットすることによって被写体の選択は大きく変化しましたが、島崎独自の
覚めたヒューマニズムがすべての写真を貫いていることには変わりありません。
会期中には、国会議員や写真家、ミュージシャン等とのトーク・セッションを4
回行います。最終日には、イースタン・ユースの吉野寿さんソロ・ライブや、ECD
のライブ・パフォーマンス、大貫憲章さんによるDJなどもあります（詳細は次ペー
ジに）。

原発デモ、反ヘイト・カウンター行動、国会
前デモ、沖縄・辺野古ゲート前などで報道カ
メラマンとして活躍。初の写真集『ひきがね』
が2月5日に発売予定。

ラスティック・バンドのベーシストからビルの窓拭き屋の社長を経てプータロー
となった島崎ろでぃーがカメラを手にしたのは2009年、36歳のときだった。この
遅咲きカメラマンは以後、路上で出会う人々をファインダーに捉えることに没頭す
る。
3.11以降東京〜福島〜沖縄と、21世紀の日本で起きていることを現場でリアル
タイムで記録しつづけた島崎は、報道カメラマンとしての仕事で知られることが多
い。しかし彼が追っているのは事件ではなく、人である。路上で知らない人に声を
かけてポートレートを撮影するという彼の写真の原点は、街頭や国会前や辺野古の
ゲート前に集まるデモの群衆を撮るときにもブレることはない。
まるで銃に弾をこめるように一眼レフにメモリーカードを装填し、ひきがねをひ
くようにシャッターを切る。島崎ろでぃー初の大規模個展となる「銃撃 Gunfire」
は、彼がカメラを手にしてからこれまでの間に穿たれた無数の銃痕からセレクトし、
ギャラリーの壁に配置しなおしたものである。
会期中には、ラッパーのECDとのコラボレーションによる初の写真集『ひきがね』
も発売される。俳優、彫師、外国人、被災者、パンクス、不良、プロテスター、学生。
3.11から5年めの節目を迎える2016年、島崎ろでぃーのシャッターが捉えた人々を
通して、我々が生きる日本という国の姿を再確認してほしい。

the Fukushima disaster scene, anti-nuke rallies,
anti-racism protests, anti-US base protests in
Okinawa and more. His first book “Hikigane

GUNFIRE
It was 2009 when Shimazaki Rody first picked up a SLR in his hands at the age of 36.
He had set out as a bassist for a local rustic stomp band while running a small window
cleaning business before loosing his job. Since then, it became a habit for this lateblooming photographer to capture the various people he met on the street through his
camera finder.
After the 3.11 disaster, Shimazaki has tirelessly recorded events on the ground throughout
21st Century Japan - from Tokyo to Fukushima to Okinawa. It is because of this that
Shimazaki became known as a news photographer. But it was not the events themselves
that he was actually following, it was the people. Having started out shooting portraits of
the strangers he met on the streets, Shimazaki still sticks to his basics even when he shoots
crowds gathering for rallies in front of the Diet, in front of the gate at Henoko, or marching
on political demonstrations.
He sets memory cards into his digital camera as if loading a gun and pops the shutter
as if pulling a trigger. Gunfire - Shimazaki's first major solo photo exhibit displays a
groundbreaking selected body of Shimazaki's work over the last 6 years since he picked
up a camera for the first time.
Accompanying the exhibition, Shimazaki has also published his first book of photography,
"Hikigane" (Trigger) from Korocolor Publishers. The book has been produced in
collaboration with the legendary rapper ECD performing the role of storyteller beside
Shimazaki's photographs. Actors, tattoo artists, foreigners, victims, punks, rudies,
protesters, students and more... The people captured by Shimazaki force us to reaffirm and
attest the present state of our country, a state in which we have all lived together for the 5
years since the 3.11 tragedy.
