Developments in the Nutrition and Health domain. Dr. Anne Mensink (the Director of the Food Valley NL organization) Knowledge, business sense and innovation are the key factors for success. Food Valley NL brings them together, merging entrepreneurship and research and boosting competitiveness. This lecture will provide information on the knowledge infrastructure in the Netherlands, on multidisciplinary partnerships in R & D as well as on the Food Valley NL organization including its vibrant Food Valley Society network . Current issues in Europe, in particular with regard to human health, like food reformulation, functional foods and substantiation of nutrition and health claims, will be discussed.
