●暮らしに関する情報
ごみの出し方とリサイクル
ごみは分別して、決められた収集日の午前 8 時までに資源・ごみ集積所に出してください。
可燃ごみは週 2 回、不燃ごみは月 2 回、資源（古紙、びん、かん、ペットボトル）および
資源プラスチックは週 1 回ずつ収集します。収集日や資源・ごみ集積所については、みな
とリサイクル清掃事務所、マンションなどの管理事務所、または家主などにお問い合わせ
ください。
また、区では、ごみの出し方やごみ出しのマナーなどをお知らせするために、「分別ガ
イドブック（英語・中国語・ハングル）」や「ごみの分け方・出し方（英語・中国語・ハ
ングル）」を発行しています。

ごみの分別方法と出し方
可燃ごみ（週 2 回収集）
生ごみ、紙くず、ゴム製品、皮革製品、衣類、紙おむつ、食用油、汚れが落とせないプ
ラスチックなど。これらを出すときは、ふた付きの容器または中身の見える袋に入れてく
ださい。
注意点
・生ごみはしっかりと水気を切ってから出してください。
・紙おむつは、排せつ物をトイレに流してから出してください。
・食用油は、紙や布に染み込ませるか凝固剤で固めてから出してください。
・段ボールや紙袋に入れて出さないでください。
不燃ごみ（月 2 回収集）
陶磁器類、ガラス類、金属製品類、スプレー缶、カセットボンベ、ライター、電球、蛍
光灯、30cm 未満の小型家電製品など。これらを出すときは、ふた付きの容器または中身
の見える袋に入れてください。
注意点
・スプレー缶、カセットボンベ、ライターなどは引火・爆発の原因になりますので、中身
を使い切ってから他の不燃ごみとは別の袋で出してください。袋には「キケン」と明記
してください。

Waste Sorting and Recycling
Sort all waste and place it out at the recycling and waste collection stations by 8:00
a.m. on the designated collection day. Combustible waste is collected twice a week.
Incombustible waste is collected twice a month. Recyclables, such as paper, bottles,
cans, and plastic bottles, and recyclable plastics are collected once a week. For more
information regarding collection days and recyclables/waste collection stations,
contact the Minato Recycling and Waste Management Office, the manager of your
housing complex, or your landlord.
To inform residents of proper waste sorting and disposal practices, the city has
published the Waste Sorting Guidebook (English/Chinese/Korean) and the Waste
Sorting and Disposal Instructions (English/Chinese/Korean).
Waste Sorting and Disposal Instructions
Combustible waste (collected twice/week):
Kitchen garbage, waste paper, rubber products, leather products, clothing, disposable diapers, cooking oil, and plastic containers that cannot be cleaned, etc. Place
these items in a lidded container or a see-through bag.
Notes
- Remove as much water as possible from food waste before disposal.
- Before disposing disposable diapers, remove feces and flush it down the toilet.
- Cooking oil should be poured on paper or cloth, or otherwise solidified with a
coagulant before disposal.
- Do not place waste in cardboard boxes or paper bags.
Incombustible waste (collected twice/month):
Ceramics, glass, metal products, spray cans, gas canisters, lighters, incandescent
light bulbs, fluorescent light bulbs, and small home electronics less than 30 cm. Place
these items in a lidded container or a see-through bag.
Notes
- Since items like spray cans, gas canisters, and lighters can cause a fire or explosion,
be sure that they are emptied completely before they are discarded and place them
in a separate bag from your other incombustible waste. Label the bag “danger”
clearly.

・割れたびん、刃物、かみそりなどの危険物は、新聞紙などで包み「キケン」と書いて出
してください。
・蛍光灯、電球は購入時のケースに入れて出してください。
・段ボールや紙袋に入れて出さないでください。

古紙、びん、かん、ペットボトル。
注意点
・「新聞紙・折り込み広告」、「雑誌・包装紙・ノート、菓子箱」、「段ボール（ろう引きのも
のは除く）」はそれぞれひもで縛って出してください。なお、紙に付着している粘着テー
プ、金具、クリップなどは外してください。
・紙パック（牛乳パックなど内側が白いもの）は水ですすいで切り開き、乾かしてからひ
もで縛って出してください。
・ビニールコート紙、カーボン紙、感熱紙などは資源としては回収できませんので、可燃
ごみに出してください。

・飲料、食料品用のびん、かんは、軽く残り水などですすいで出してください。
・ワインなどのボトルを出すときは、栓やびんの首まわりの包装フィルムや金属を取り除
いてください。
・油汚れの落とせないびん、かん、化粧品・薬品のびん、割れたびん、コップなどは不燃
ごみに出してください。
・ペットボトルは、キャップとラベルを取り外し、中身を軽くすすぎ、つぶしてから資源
として出してください。取り外したキャップとラベルは資源プラスチックに出してくだ
さい。
資源プラスチック（週 1 回回収）
容器包装プラスチック（プラスチック製のトレイ、袋、パック、カップなど）だけでなく、
製品プラスチック（プラスチック製のハンガー、歯ブラシなど）も資源プラスチックとし
て回収しています。
注意点
・汚れのあるものは古布でふき取る、残り水ですすぐなどして汚れを落としてから出して
ください。油や薬品などの汚れが落とせないプラスチックは、可燃ごみに出してください。
・プラマークを目安に分別してください。

Notes
- Bind up and bundle with string: (a) newspapers and advertisements, (b) magazines,
wrapping paper, notebooks, and sweets boxes (c) cardboard excluding wax-coated
cardboard. Remove any adhesive tape, metallic clasps, or paper clips.
- Paper cartons with white interiors such as milk cartons should be rinsed, cut open,
dried out, and bundled with string.
- Coated paper, carbon paper, and thermal paper cannot be collected as recycling,
and thus should be disposed of with other combustible waste.
- Rinse out food and beverage bottles and cans before disposal.
- When disposing of wine bottles, etc., remove all corks as well as any plastic film or
foil from around the neck of the bottle.
- Oily glass bottles, cans, cosmetics and medicine bottles, broken glass bottles and
cups, etc., should be disposed of with other incombustible waste.
- To recycle plastic bottles, remove and discard caps and labels, empty and rinse out
bottles, and crush them before putting them out for collection. Dispose of removed
caps and labels with recyclable plastics.
Recyclable Plastic (collected once/week)
The following items are collected as recyclable plastic: plastic containers such as
plastic trays, bags, packs, and cups, and plastic products such as plastic hangers and
toothbrushes.
Notes
- Wipe dirty items with an old rag or rinse them with water, etc., before disposal.
Plastics from which oil or chemicals cannot be removed should be disposed of with
other combustible waste.
- Recycle items bearing the

粗大ごみの収集
家具・寝具など、おおむね 1 辺が 30cm 以上のものが粗大ごみになります。粗大ごみの
収集は有料です。また、粗大ごみの収集は事前申し込みが必要です。粗大ごみ受付センター
に申し込み、収集日と手数料を確認してください。なお、インターネットからも申し込み
できます。また、粗大ごみを出すときには、スーパーマーケット、コンビニエンスストア
などの取り扱い店、みなとリサイクル清掃事務所または各総合支所協働推進課で手数料の
金額分の有料粗大ごみ処理券（港区専用）を購入し、粗大ごみに貼って出してください。

Large-Sized Waste
Large-sized waste refers to items that have at least one side longer than 30 cm in
length. A service fee is charged for collecting large-sized waste. You need to call to
schedule a large-sized waste collection in advance. Contact the Large-Sized Waste
Reception Center for collection dates and service charges. You can also request a
pickup online. When putting out large-sized waste for collection, purchase a largesized waste ticket in the amount corresponding to the service fee specifically for
Minato City from any supermarket, convenience store, other participating retailer, or
from Minato Recycling and Waste Management Office or Collaboration Project subsection, each Regional City Office, and affix it to the item you are discarding.

Furniture Recycling Exhibition
Minato City evaluates and receives still-usable quality wooden furniture (chest of
drawers, dining sets, cupboards, sofas, etc.) that is no longer needed by households
in Minato City free of charge, cleans and repairs them lightly, and exhibits and sells
them in order to call for reuse. If you have furniture that is “still usable” or “too good
to dispose of,” contact the Furniture Recycling Exhibition Office. For more information, see Minato City’s official website.

油の入っていた容器やペットボトルなどの容器に入れて、しっかりフタを閉めて回収

Pickup-point collection
Minato City has set up collection boxes in its own facilities to collect resources
disposed of by households. For the locations of the collection boxes, check Minato
City’s official website.
○ Used small home appliances (13 facilities owned by Minato City)
Put them in the yellow collection box.
● What can be collected (9 items to be collected)
1. Cell phones 2. Portable music players 3. Portable gaming devices, 4. Digital
cameras, 5. Portable video cameras, 6. Portable car navigation systems, 7.
Electronic dictionary, 8. Calculators 9. Code such as AC adapters.
■ Notes:
- Make sure to delete personal data on cell phones, etc. Also, remove storage
media such as SD cards. *Personal data on cell phones will be stored under
lock and key and destroyed and discarded appropriately.
- Remove battery cells such as lithium batteries.
○ Old clothes (3 locations in Minato City)
Put them in a see-through bag such as transparent plastic bag and put it the collection box.
● What can be collected
- Reusable clothing in general
- Shoes and socks (only in pairs), towels, kimonos and obis (traditional Japanese
dresses and belts), etc.

- Items to be sat or slept on such as mattresses, cushions, and carpets
- Rubber and plastic products such as rubber wellingtons and rain coats
- Items with names on such as company uniforms, etc.
- Items that are extremely dirty and in bad condition, items used for pet purposes

- Bring reusable items after washing them. They do not need to be dry-cleaned.

Put straight-tube and circular fluorescent light bulbs in the casings they came in
or wrap them in newspapers so that they will not be shattered and put them in the
collection box.

Put it in the container it came in or a container such as a plastic bottle, close the

Items Not Collected by the City
Recyclable Home Appliances
To dispose of an air conditioner, TV including LCD or plasma, refrigerator/freezer,
washing machine, or dryer, you should contact the store where you purchased the
product, or the store where you are purchasing its replacement, to request a pickup.
The consumer will be charged a recycling fee and transport fee for the pickup. If
you do not know where the appliance was purchased, contact the Home Appliance
Recycling Center.

Home Computers

自転車の放置禁止と駐輪場一覧
自転車や原動機付自転車などを路上に放置しないでください。自転車などを路上に放置
すると、歩行者や障害者、緊急車両などの通行の妨げとなり大変危険です。港区では、条
例によって区内の駅周辺を放置禁止区域に指定し、放置されている自転車・原動機付自転
車は即日撤去の対象となります。

Minato City will not collect gas burners, oil, chemicals, batteries, or other toxic
or hazardous items. The city also will not collect tires, pianos, or safes, so contact
the shop from which you purchased the item or the Minato Recycling and Waste

Prohibition Against Bicycle Abandonment, List of Bicycle Lots
Do not leave bicycles or scooters unattended in the roadway. Unattended bicycles
can block the passage of pedestrians and the disabled, and can pose a serious hazard
by blocking the passage of emergency vehicles. The areas around stations in Minato
City have been designated as no-parking zones for bicycles, and abandoned bicycles
and scooters are subject to immediate impound.
Impounded bicycles and scooters are stored at a temporary bicycle storage lot. A
fee will be charged to retrieve an impounded bicycle, ¥2,000 for bicycles, ¥3,000 for
scooters.

Public Rental Housing
Minato City provides rental housing to low/moderate-income families and individuals at an affordable price.

Key Eligibility
- Either the applicant, applicant’s parent, or applicant’s parent-in-law must be a resident of Minato City.
- Must be having problems securing housing.
- Must be 20 years of age or older.
- Must currently be living with or planning to live with a family member and some
units also available for single individuals.
- Household income must be in the specified range according to and varied by housing type.
- Must not be in arrears on resident tax payments.
- Foreign residents must have permission to be a permanent resident of Japan, or
must have been living in Japan for more than one year.
- Applicants and their prospective co-residents must not be members of a gang.
Tenant application information can be found in Koho Minato, on city facility bulletin boards, and on the city’s website.

Minato City accepts life hygiene inquiries regarding the extermination of rats and
pest and housing sanitation. The city also conducts tests on well water or drinking
water supplied through water tanks installed in multi-family housing complexes, for
a fee.
