Program description:
Recontructive Bone Surgery and Maxillary Sinus Lift are the most effective procedures to solve prosthetic problems
in severe maxillo-mandibular atrophies. Many alternative techniques have been proposed in the years, and the precise
comprehension of the 3D maxillo-mandibular deficiency is mandatory. Whether addressing specific cosmetic
concerns, or providing advanced restorations and rehabilitation, coordinated efforts from specialists in each field of
dentistry “improve” and maximize treatment outcomes. The faculty will focus on diagnosis, treatment planning and
execution of therapy, both from the unique perspective of the restorative dentist, the periodontist and the surgeon, and
from the higher level of understanding attained through their synergistic interactions in the exciting evolving field of
ADVANCED IMMEDIATE LOADING and the new specialty of OSTEO-PERIO-IMPLANTOLOGY.

Immediate loading has been accepted as an evidence based concept in the anterior part of the mandible. The
presentation will focus on the immediate functional concept of implants placed in poor bone qualities and
compromised bone metabolism. The main characteristics of the implant design, implant/abutment connection as
well as the requirements for a successful treatment will be demonstrated.
The second part of this presentation will be focused on the laser treatment in implant dentistry. The clinician will
be able to learn more about the different laser wavelengths, the laser-tissue interactions as well as their
applications in implant dentistry. The preparation will illustrate a high number of perimplantitis cases as well as
the long term clinical outcome after the use of implant surface decontamination using lasers.
